IIT Bombay has started the Joint counselling for UCEED shortlisted students. You have to fill out the B.Des application (Common Application form by IIT Bombay) for admission. The application portal has been active from March 14, 2026 (Saturday), 10:00 AM, till April 10, 2026 (Friday), 5:30 PM.

There will be 5 rounds of UCEED 2026 Counselling and Seat Allotment process.
There are a total of 245 seats available for UCEED, which you can check on the official website here.
You can apply for admission into the B.Des program at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Roorkee, and IIITDM Jabalpur.

On selection, you will be sent a provisional allotment letter via your registered email, which will be directed to an online payment system. You can pay the Seat Acceptance Fee of ₹ 60,000/- (Rupees Sixty Thousand only) for GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL and ₹ 15,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Thousand only) for SC/ST/PwD.

The UCEED 2026 Scorecards are now available from 10 March to 11 June 2026. The Candidates can download their UCEED 2026 scorecard from the candidate’s Portal by using their Email ID and Password.

Before the UCEED 2026 Result, Part A Qualifying Cutoff was released, including the mean (μ) of 70.86 and standard deviation (σ) of 25.77. According to this, the general category cutoff is 83.74, OBC-NCL/EWS Cutoff is 75.36, and for SC/ST/PwD, it is 41.87.

Only if you clear the Part A Cutoff, your Part B Ranking will be evaluated, and the final merit list will be prepared using the combined scores.

Ques. Does IIIT Delhi accept UCEED scores?

Ans. Students having Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class XII, willing to apply for B. Tech. (CSD).

The program can apply through the JAC and IIITD admission process using the UCEED rank.
However, if at any point in time a candidate is getting a seat in both processes, he/she will have to withdraw one.

The UCEED Part A Cutoff has been released on 5th February 2026. The UCEED Cutoff is calculated by using a statistical normalisation formula based on the mean (μ) and standard deviation (σ) of Part A scores.

For UCEED 2026, the mean (μ) is 70.86 and the standard deviation (σ) is 25.77.

The UCEED Part A Cutoff shows the eligibility for ranking, whereas the Admission Cutoff refers to the closing ranks at which the seats will be allotted during the counselling.

As only 245-255 seats are available in 7 institutes, the admission cutoffs are more competitive than the qualifying cutoff and will vary by category, institute, and round.

UCEED Admission Cutoff: Previous Year Closing Ranks

The IIT Bombay cutoff is the most competitive, with the closing AIR of 15 for the general category.
The Rank gap between the institutes has increased, showing high seat intake and demand hierarchy.

Freeze: It is the final decision; once frozen, your admission will be locked, and you won’t be able to upgrade in future rounds.
Float: By this, you will retain your current seat but can move to a higher preferred institute as well if available.
Exit: You can leave the centralised admission process; re-entry will not be allowed then.
