What Students Say
Likes
- At the university you have frequent job fairs which is quite helpful.
- Also the university allows doing masters thesis from companies like Mercedes and Bosch due to close tie relations.
- It has good lab facilities and during summers you have various sports activities, dance classes, yoga, etc which you can register and participate in.
Dislikes
- Stuttgart is a bit costly. So for more money, the room that you get will be smaller than the rest of the cities.
- Dorm rooms at the university are small. It's clean but really small so I find it a bit inconvenient. But there are better dorms but it's a bit costly.
- Subjects are difficult. Becomes a bit stressful to manage studies and working student jobs. It's not something I don't like but yes it's stressful to study. But I believe it would be the same for any TU because it's focused on research.
I chose this University because companies give preference if passed out from this university as it is quite reputed and also Stuttgart is known for its industries hence getting a work is easier.
Course Curriculum
The course is updated every year. It's very relevant. You can have industrial experience by applying to work student jobs in companies.
Faculty
I don't know about the ratio. Facilities are quite well versed and friendly. You can email them asking for doubts. Everyone is quite approachable. A professor named Michael Weyrich. He is a really friendly professor. Replies to emails and also helped me get a research project. Very approachable and friendly.
Campus Life
It's a research university hence there are ample research facilities. A huge library where you can also study is available. There are multiple rooms and cafes where you can chill and Study. You get food at discounted prices at the university cafes. University provides free wifis which are quite fast and can be used inside the campus. During summer there are ample sports opportunities from dancing to yoga to football, badminton, tennis and many more. You can also join teams for cricket I guess.
Placement
University doesn't offer placements but recruiters give preference if passed out from the university. And there are a lot of research opportunities.
Accommodation
Accommodation, there are 4 sharing, 8 sharing and single rooms. The rent changes accordingly. I stay in 8 sharing with a rent of 342 EUR per month. Others cost more than this. In 8 sharing there is 2 kitchens 2 washrooms separate for girls and boys. So in total 4 washrooms. It's quite near but depends on the people who stay there. Student dorms are the most feasible option because it's cheap. Getting accommodation outside is a bit difficult and costly.
Exams
- For masters, admission depends on the bachelor's scores and it is different for different courses. For electrical it's a minimum of 8.5 CGPA which you need to convert to German grade. Hence a German grade between 1.5 and 1.8. but might have changed now. IELTS score should be a minimum of 6.5 for English-taught courses. - Grade 10- 9.5 cgpa; Grade 12- 86% in CBSE UG - 8.98- anna University - Requirements: Yes, I had to submit the SOP and my transcripts. In SOP show the university why you took the university, the reason for selecting the master's degree and the course, the motivation behind it, and also the reason for selecting Stuttgart.
Fees
1600 EUR per semester. It's not tuition fees it goes to the state. The semester contribution is 332 EUR.
