What Students Say
Likes
- The best I liked about EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht is the location - it has the best surroundings I could ever think of. Located at the banks of the Rhine river, it gives a soothing vibe being there.
- Diversity - You will find students across the globe, people from Germany, India, US, Middle East etc which makes it a truly global university.
- Curriculum - Curriculum is highly curated for all streams which makes it ready for all students to go the market and ready from day one in the real world.
Dislikes
- Career fair - I believe the career fair in the university could be more extensive and students can benefit from it.
- Hostel - Hostel in the university is expensive as compared to staying in the local area.
- Collaboration/ Networking events - I believe there could be more networking events which can help students for their support in terms of career.
Course Curriculum
- The curriculum is more mix in nature. It has both theories in place and connects with the corporate world for the practical exposure.
- More practical approach is what I would say as the positive aspect and less towards deeper understanding of topics is what I can assume as negative aspects of the curriculum.

-
It gave me an international exposure which was the main reason for choosing this college and also I got my desired specialisation.
-
I got admitted into this through SPJIMR - GMP program where you have to study 6 months at SPJIMR and the remaining at the selected university. My GRE score was helpful to get admission into this program.
CAT and GRE and GMAT, depending upon the university the eligibility is decided -
As we don't have a clear visibility on the university abroad it becomes difficult to choose. With thorough research and networking it becomes an informed decision making process.
-
I studied MBA in finance and Strategy Consulting as I was more aligned towards the financial domain and having a background in IT Consulting I believe I should go ahead with Strategy Consulting as well.
-
Choosing a stream should always be aligned with your strengths and aspirations.
-
The overall process took 2 months:-
Applying into the college
Getting shortlisted - 1 month
Interview - 1.5 months
Admission letter - 2 months
Class Schedule
- I would say 3-4 classes per day were scheduled. Timings go around from 8 AM till 6 PM in the evening and there are gaps in between.
- The average number of students was 40.
- Indian students enrolled -15
Faculty
- Faculty to student ratio 1:40. I believe this is a good ratio as every student can be focused on
- Course content and methodology were sufficient enough for securing a job
- Yes, good connections with faculty and seniors always helps you in finding a job.
- I admire the Strategy professor most as his thoughts and approach towards any topic were eye opening.
Campus Life
- As I was studying there during the COVID time, there weren't many clubs or extracurricular activities going on in the campus. All of it was done remotely.
- I was part of the consulting club which gave me a very good exposure in real world projects.
- The library there is really good. E-journal, newspapers, everything is available.
- There are many student organisations, football club etc which you can participate in.
Part Time Jobs
- I didn't find TA, RA available for MBA students. It is there for MS students in the campus.
- I would not be able to comment better in this section.
- However you can do other part time jobs or werkstudent. 20 hours per week is allowed and you can earn upto 20€/ hr.
- On campus part time jobs are not much in quantity. It would be better to find something outside.
- Typically you can earn anything from 10-20€ per hour. The initial stage will be a little difficult but you can get it easily. You can apply through multiple channels from the company website. You can work with Amazon, Edeka, Rewe, McDonald's any retail franchise and can earn good which can cover your monthly expenses. For part time there are no interview process. Based on the vacancy, you can get it directly.
Placement
- There are multiple full time job available after completion of studies and it should be aligned with your previous experience, current studies and your expertise as well.
- You need to give a cover letter and CV for the application process. From career fair events and LinkedIn people find most of the jobs. There are no on campus placements but you can get career fair events where you can network with people from corporate and share your CV. Once shortlisted, you will have to go through the interview process.
- To name few, Deutsche Bank, KPMG, Accenture and many more people get hired.
Accommodation
- I used online platform to find accommodation
- Monthly rent - 400€, it was fully furnished. Bed, sofa wifi electricity bill, utilities everything was included in it
- I did not find much of challenge in the accommodation finding process
- I would suggest stay closer to the University as it reduces your transportation time
- I was staying 5 kms away from the university
- Indian students were also scattered out.
Exams
- I took the GRE for admission to the University. A decent score is good enough to get the admission.
- CV, SOP, LOR, work experience certificate, graduation certificates, transcripts are all required as part of documentation for admission at the university. These are very essential and hold good impact in the admission process. One should keep it handy.
- Yes, there was an interview and it was aligned towards my understanding of the subject and it will be more from the basics and how confidently I curate it.
Fees
- It was 15000€ per semester as tuition fees.
- Hostel fees are not included in it.
- Other fees such as living expenses, travel food etc are on actuals.
- Fees are charged per semester.
- Minimum monthly expenses would be around 800€ including the rent, food, transportation etc. I took a 1 RK on rent which cost me 400€ per month
- Groceries would be 100€ per month
Scholarship
- Yes, there are multiple scholarships
- Unfortunately I couldn't receive one.
- The best one I would say is the Dean's list
- Max Award amount is 100% of the tuition fees
- Min award amount is 30% of the tuition fees
- One of my batch mate received the scholarship and 30% waive off of the tuition fees
- On an average, 3-4 students receive scholarships across the departments.
