Course Curriculum

10

  • it is quite difficult and needs a lot of expertise and pre-reading. It was a mix of both practical and theoretical case studies at the end of each course to apply the knowledge in the real-time world.
  • I would say positive things, as I didn't find any negative. Whatever you learn, you can implement it in case studies, which gives you confidence in the future about how to use it whenever required.
  • 4 classes were scheduled on a daily basis. 30 students were there in my class. 60% were Indian students.

Admission Experience

  • I got admitted to all the 3 colleges I applied to based on my individual interviews with each university, overall profile and GRE Score.
  • EBS University in Germany, IESEG University from France and Neynrode University in the Netherlands were my choices and I got confirmed admission.
  • No, I haven't received any rejection from any university. Good reputation with alliance college in India.
  • Good GRE score is required. First I had an interview with the partner school in India which is SPJIMR and once I cleared the round, then I had an interview with the professors of EBS university where they asked me questions related to my work experience, why I want to do an MBA and how I see my future post-MBA. Also, they ask some basic cases to understand the analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • My admission experience was smooth
    • 2020 intake I applied. I have done 6 years in technology consulting and always wanted to go at the business side. After gaining good experience in how the industry works from the IT side, I jump ship to understand how business decisions are made and their real-time impact on the whole organization.
    • Admission process took 2 months. I applied in April and received confirmation at the end of May.

Faculty

8

  • 1:5 was the ratio. Teaching followed by discussion and interactive class sessions. Also, have individual presentations.
  • No, that is not the role of a faculty member. You have to find the job on your own; you can, of course, request a letter of recommendation.
  • Prof of strategy and Finance Prof. They both have extensive industry experience and, at the same time, good knowledge about their subjects.

Campus Life

8

  • 2 campuses they have. One for business school and another one for Law college.
  • Medical services and library facilities were available on our campus. Not sure about the other campus facilities, as I never get a chance to visit there.
  • Main events are the freshers party, job fair and summer party. Also, alum meet at Oktoberfest in Munich. I am aware of only clubs like the consulting club, golf club and football club.

Part Time Jobs

  • For TA; RA; DA positions, you need to be fluent in German, but other part-time jobs are also available, like supporting in the library. There is a basic pay rule in Germany that everyone has to follow so according to your number of hours, you get the pay – 1500 euros – 2000 euros.
  • One can work 180 days on a student visa, i.e., 8 hours of work for 180 days. Now it is up to someone whether they want to work 8 hours for 180 days or 4 hours for 360 days
  • There is a german rule for minimum basic pay for each hour, which is right now 13 euros. It is difficult to find one since there are a lot of students looking out for something similar; you can directly go and talk to the owner of a shop or a restaurant and check with them if they need someone to support. Sometimes people put vacancies out on their gates so you can check that as well.

Placement

6

  • 60% of people got the job after 6 months. Since we started to normalise after COVID.
  • 50-60k euros is the average salary most students receive in their first job post graduation.
  • You have to search on different job portals and try to connect with your network. Sometime internships also get converted to full-time.
  • We don't have a placement kind of thing. Only job fair where you can meet people, pitch about yourself and take their contact so you can share your resume later and if they find something, they will refer you and invite you for an interview call.
  • Amazon, P&G, Kion, BMW and many other small OEMs are the major companies which hire.

Accommodation

Off Campus
8

  • By university website. Students put up with their own flats if they are going out to study abroad for a semester or if they find rooms empty in their flats.
  • 700 euros, including everything (heating, water, internet)
  • 5 km from the university was my accommodation, which was a shared flat. It was 3bhk flat shared between 3 people and each room's rent was 700 euros. It was a 3-storey building and others were the same as well.

Exams

  • I gave the GRE since that was accepted at the university.
  • You need SOP LOR, CV and a good GRE Score if you are applying to a European University while if you are applying for a US University you might require a GMAT score.
  • Yes, it is a part of the application process. Once you submit all your documents, if they qualify for the minimum requirement the college is looking for, you will be invited for a 2-round interview.

Fees

  • 30 lakh total fees for the entire course. Semester-wise, fees were charged at my college.
  • 900 euros were estimated as an expense that includes house rent, food and other costs. Keep in mind if you are living in university dorms, it can go up to 1500 euros as well. When you are a student, you get a subsidised travelling ticket from your university, which is very helpful.

Scholarship

  • No i did not receive a scholarship. No, none of my batchmates receive any kind of financial aid.
  • I have no idea how many people receive the scholarship each year and how much they receive. I know there are some prizes for writing best thesis at the university or for writing a paper which have been accepted in some big journal.
