Hey there,
Sure, it's not right in the middle of North Campus, but you'll come to see that this is actually a bonus. The campus remains calm and tidy, not like a lot of other places. Plus, it's just a quick auto or metro ride away, so it's no big deal.
Teachers keep a close eye on your attendance and studies, which might give you school vibes sometimes. But honestly, how you experience it is up to you. Some people feel it's like being back in school, while others don't.
And guess what? There's no dress code!
Campus life at Indraprastha College for Women is quite vibrant, especially for students like me pursuing the Bachelor of Arts (BA) program. We have our annual fest called "Shruti" which is a highlight of the academic year, and it usually takes place in March or April. The college is surrounded by lush greenery, making it a beautiful place to study and hang out with friends.
There are various societies and clubs, such as dance and music, that keep things lively. Overall, it’s a good balance of academics and extracurricular activities that makes campus life enjoyable.
Indraprastha College for Women is a bit away from the main campus, but not too far. Once you're through your first year, you'll know the North Campus well enough. If you're coming from another city, consider staying in Kamla Nagar or Hudson Line.
The real attendance requirement is 40%, not 60%, and it's calculated over the entire year, not by semester. Honestly, if you can't make it to 40% of your classes, you might want to rethink why you're in college. A dedicated student shouldn't have trouble with attendance, especially since there are only about four to five classes a day. Hitting 40% should be doable!
Some professors are strict, but most are pretty laid-back. It varies, really. Last semester, I had a teacher who didn't mind if you dozed off, while another wouldn't let you in even if you were just five minutes late. It's a mixed bag, but staying on good terms with your professors is smart since your internal marks are partly in their hands. Like at many colleges, favoritism can happen.
There's no dress code, so feel free to wear what you like. Just be sensible—maybe skip the bikinis and the super high heels. Teachers generally don't mind what you wear.
IPCW is a chill place and not like school at all. You can do almost anything outside class. You’re free to come and go as you please. You can skip classes and still hang out on campus. Some teachers are cool with texting in class, and some might even join your class WhatsApp group. Just remember, no smoking on campus, but you can head to the metro station if needed. Drinking isn't necessary on campus, obviously. So don't stress—no homework, no dress code, phones are allowed, and no one’s watching your every move like in school.
Hope you have an incredible three years on campus!
Hey there!
Sure, it's a bit distant from the North Campus and the teachers can be quite strict. But guess what? No dress code, which is awesome, right? Haha. The teachers do require you to maintain at least 60% attendance and they really want to make sure you're keeping up with your studies. It might feel a bit tough compared to other colleges where students can sometimes skip classes, but give it a year and you'll see it’s actually not so bad. You’ll always find a way to manage.
By the way, which course are you in? Maybe I can offer more specific advice!
Campus life at Indraprastha College for Women is pretty good overall. As a BA student, I enjoy the annual fest "Shruti," where we get to see a lot of participation from various departments. The college has a nice library with a wide range of books which is helpful. However, I do wish that the sports facilities were better maintained and that there were more activities organized throughout the year.
Still, the overall atmosphere is friendly, and it’s a great place to meet people and engage in different events.
