Should I go for B.Tech Automotive Engineering in DTU or B.Tech (Data Sciences) in PEC Chandigarh?

This can be seen as a drawback since our branch is often perceived as similar to Mechanical Engineering due to the name change. DTU offers ample research opportunities and co-curricular activities. I would suggest you consider your confidence in scoring better in your chosen field. If you believe you can excel, then go for it; otherwise, it might be worth exploring other options.

In terms of placements and internships, DTU's B.Tech in Automotive Engineering seems to have a slight edge over PEC Chandigarh's B.Tech in Data Sciences. DTU has strong recruitment from top tech and core companies like Microsoft and Honda, with average stipends around ?25,000 and impressive packages reaching up to ?60 LPA. Meanwhile, PEC's data science program is also promising but lacks detailed placement data for a direct comparison. If you're leaning towards automotive engineering and want robust company connections, DTU is the way to go. However, if you're interested in data science and the growing tech industry, PEC can still be a solid choice. Ultimately, your decision should hinge on your passion for the field and where you see yourself thriving.

It's better to join DTU, because DTU is one of the oldest and best engineering colleges in India. It's comparable to IITs in terms of quality education and, in some cases, the hefty packages too. In 2017, the highest package offered was around 12.5 MILLION INR to a CSE student, which reflects the quality of education and the environment at the college. If you are seeking IIT-level packages, you won't be disappointed by DTU either. However, if you are willing to work hard during your engineering curriculum, then getting into either IIT or DTU won't make a significant difference in your career.
