I saw this question and had to jump in! My experience at IIM Udaipur has been fantastic. Why, you ask? Academics: The curriculum and courses are top-notch. The faculty is impressive. Activities and class participation were engaging and truly eye-opening. Placements: Yes, if you compare it with older IIMs or other private institutes, there will be a difference in the packages offered. However, the average package is on the rise, and new companies are joining the campus every year. Campus Life: The campus is beautiful, hostels are well-maintained, and the mess food is delicious! Clubs and events are very active. So, IIM Udaipur is a solid choice for an MBA. I had converted CAP IIMs and IITs but chose IIM Udaipur because of its global ranking. It’s also the fastest-growing IIM. I still miss IIM U!

Hi! Self Brief- I am a student from an old IIT studying in a new IIM (one of the better ones, as they say). I left a job in the tech space where I was earning over 10 lakhs per annum. I am currently a topper at this IIM. Some Free Advice - Take the statements from media about new IIMs with a pinch of salt; they are mostly marketing tactics. This is happening across all new IIMs as they seek more talent like you. Recommendations on joining - For individuals coming from top-tier engineering colleges (IITs, BITs, etc.) with a salary exceeding 10 lakhs per annum in tech: Avoid new IIMs unless your current situation is dire and you want to make it worse., Don’t join new IIMs unless you are looking to change your domain. Honestly, even then, the chances are slim since companies remain skeptical about these new marketing hubs., and Stay away from new IIMs if you expect to gain substantial knowledge or find peers similar to those from your top-tier engineering colleges. The background of students here is often mediocre, and they may not be aware of the industry trends you are familiar with..

IIM Udaipur and NMIMS Mumbai both have unique offerings, but when it comes to fees and ROI, NMIMS might be the smarter choice. IIM Udaipur’s total fees are around 22 lakhs, with an average placement package of 19.5 lakhs, which gives a decent but not stellar ROI considering the competition. In contrast, NMIMS has competitive fees, and its brand value in Mumbai often leads to better networking and internship opportunities, which can translate to higher salaries post-MBA. Scholarships at IIM Udaipur are limited mainly to reserved categories, while NMIMS offers more accessible options. Honestly, if you’re looking for a more financially sound option with potential for better placements, NMIMS Mumbai is likely the better pick.

IIM Udaipur offers a great campus life with lots of activities and clubs to join, which is a huge plus for networking and socializing. The curriculum is structured similarly to other IIMs, and while the faculty is decent, the placement stats are a bit underwhelming with an average package of around 19.5 Lakh. On the other hand, NMIMS Mumbai has a strong reputation, particularly in terms of industry connections and placement opportunities, which often lead to higher starting salaries. If you’re looking for a vibrant campus experience and can handle a slightly lower placement record, IIM Udaipur might be the way to go. However, if you prioritize strong placement and industry recognition, NMIMS Mumbai would be a better choice.

Before diving into the comparison, it's important to note that I am currently a student at IIM Trichy. However, I assure you that my response is impartial. When referring to NMIMS, I'm specifically talking about the Mumbai campus. Let’s break it down based on various parameters: Location - NMIMS has a significant locational advantage, being situated in Mumbai. IIM Udaipur and IIM Trichy are somewhat equal here, as Udaipur is near Ahmedabad and Trichy is close to Bangalore and Chennai. Batch Size - IIM Trichy and IIM Udaipur have an edge here. NMIMS has a batch size of around 500 students, which can be a disadvantage during placements. Additionally, the teacher-to-student ratio is better in Udaipur and Trichy compared to NMIMS. Alumni Network - NMIMS boasts a stronger alumni network. Since IIM Trichy and IIM Udaipur are relatively new (only 4 years old), they don’t have the extensive alumni connections that NMIMS can offer. However, if you consider the entire IIM alumni network, Trichy and Udaipur surpass NMIMS. Campus - While IIM Trichy and IIM Udaipur do not have their own dedicated campuses yet, they utilize the facilities of established institutions. IIM Trichy is based at NIT Trichy, giving access to all NIT facilities. In contrast, NMIMS does not operate as a full-fledged campus. Simply put, weigh these factors carefully to make the best decision for your MBA journey!
