IIM Udaipur and IIM Ranchi both offer solid MBA programs, but when it comes to fees and ROI, IIM Udaipur may not be the smartest financial choice. With a total fee of 22 lakhs and an average package of 19.5 lakhs, the return doesn’t seem great, especially considering the active social life that could lead to extra expenses. Scholarships at IIM Udaipur are mainly for reserved categories, making it tough for general candidates, while IIM Ranchi has been noted for better placement records and a more promising return on investment. If you’re looking for a stronger brand with potentially better placements and value for money, IIM Ranchi might be the way to go.

Sure, I'll provide my perspective as an outsider, based on an request. Placements: This is crucial since it’s why most people choose business schools. After reviewing the placement reports for both colleges, I found that none of them are particularly impressive. However, I would lean towards IIM Ranchi because some of their HR alumni are in reputable organizations, which gives them an edge over other newer IIMs. Location: All campuses are situated in decent Tier 2 cities, so there isn’t much difference here. However, Trichy's campus is only 13 km from the airport, which could facilitate better corporate-student interactions and potentially improve placements. Permanent Campus: IIM Ranchi does not have a permanent campus yet and is expected to move to one in 2019. If campus life is important to you, the other options might be better. Personally, I would still prefer Trichy. Faculty & Research: Udaipur boasts impressive credentials in this area and clearly outshines the other new IIMs. At the end of the day, weigh these factors based on your priorities to make the best decision for your MBA journey!

IIM Udaipur and IIM Ranchi both have their pros and cons when it comes to placements and internships. IIM Udaipur has an average placement package of around 19.5 Lakh, but its internship opportunities seem to be quite limited, with stipends often falling below expectations. In contrast, IIM Ranchi, while not explicitly detailed here, is known for a more robust placement network and generally better internship prospects, which can lead to higher job packages. If you're looking for better job and package prospects, I would lean towards IIM Ranchi. However, if you prioritize campus life, IIM Udaipur offers a vibrant social scene that might appeal to you. Ultimately, if your focus is on a strong career outcome, IIM Ranchi might be the safer bet.

There isn't a straightforward answer to this question. Both IIM Udaipur and IIM Ranchi hold their own unique positions. IIM Ranchi does face some challenges regarding its campus. It's likely that IIM Ranchi will move to a permanent campus before the current batch (2018–2020) graduates. That said, IIM Ranchi has a smaller batch size (180+) for its PGDM compared to the 240+ batch size at other IIMs, as it combines this strength with PGDHRM. A smaller batch size can be beneficial during placements. While this may not be a concern for above-average performers, it certainly helps others. Regarding placements, IIM Ranchi has performed reasonably well, and there are reports to back this up. In terms of placements, IIM Ranchi stands out among other options. IIM Trichy and IIM Udaipur have a significant advantage when it comes to campus infrastructure compared to IIM Ranchi. Although this factor can be overrated at times, it is indeed an important aspect of IIM life. The quality of students across these IIMs doesn't vary much. Having observed multiple batches, I can confidently say that IIM Ranchi has a strong community.

IIM Udaipur is quite underrated among IIMs! You might be surprised to learn that IIM Udaipur is the youngest B-school in the world to rank in the top 100 of the Financial Times (FT) Masters in Management ranking globally. Only 5 IIMs made it to that list, and yes, Udaipur ranks better than Indore! The same goes for the World QS Ranking. It’s ranked alongside IIM Indore in the 101+ category, with only 5 IIMs appearing on that list. To put things into perspective, FT and QS rankings are the most prestigious B-school ranking systems in the world. IIM Udaipur is also the youngest B-school in India to receive AACSB Accreditation. Additionally, IIM Udaipur is a research-focused institute, which is evident in its research ranking by UT Dallas. It ranks 4th in Research in India. In less than ten years, its research productivity has surpassed that of IIM Calcutta, which is in 5th place. ISB tops the list by a significant margin. Why does IIM Udaipur focus its energy on research? Every top B-school in the world reaches the top by producing high-quality research, among other factors. Take ISB as an example. Why has ISB been able to make its mark internationally?
