Considering the fees and overall return on investment, pursuing B.Tech in Software Engineering at DTU seems like the smarter financial choice compared to B.Tech in Civil Engineering at NIT Kurukshetra. DTU has a more updated curriculum with early and diverse internship opportunities, which can significantly enhance your employability and skill set, while placements are solid, especially for those with strong coding skills. Although NIT Kurukshetra also offers good education and placements, the fees at DTU are more stable and scholarships are available for needy students, making it a more accessible option financially.

If you're inclined towards tech and want a vibrant campus life with numerous fests, DTU would be the better pick. However, if you have a strong passion for civil engineering and appreciate the traditional aspects of that field, NIT Kurukshetra could also be a great fit.

The Civil Engineering department at NIT Kurukshetra has some of the most experienced faculty. However, if placements are your priority, Civil at NIT Kurukshetra may not be the best choice.

  • I’m not too familiar with the faculty at DTU, but I can confidently say that DTU has a better reputation than NIT Kurukshetra.
  • Location-wise, DTU offers numerous advantages.

Overall, I would recommend going for DTU!

In terms of placements and internship opportunities, DTU for B.Tech in Software Engineering stands out significantly compared to NIT Kurukshetra's B.Tech in Civil Engineering. DTU offers internships starting from the first year with big names like Google and Apple, whereas NIT Kurukshetra begins internships only from the third year, and securing them heavily relies on maintaining a high CGPA. Placement prospects at DTU are also more favorable, with companies actively recruiting from the campus despite current market challenges.

If you're keen on tech and programming, DTU is the clear choice for better job prospects. However, if you have a passion for civil engineering and prefer a traditional field, NIT Kurukshetra can still offer solid career outcomes, though the path may be longer and more competitive.

Let me make this clear: DTU and NSIT are in a different league compared to PEC and even NIT Kurukshetra. So, in general, the hierarchy is:

  • DTU ? NSIT > NIT ? PEC

If you have the chance to get into DTU or NSIT, don’t think twice compared to the other options mentioned!
