MNNIT Allahabad and IIIT Allahabad both have distinct advantages, but the financial aspect leans slightly towards MNNIT. The fees at MNNIT are manageable, especially with scholarship opportunities for low-income families, while IIIT has a higher fee structure of about 10 lakhs for four years without substantial scholarships available. In terms of ROI, MNNIT's placement records are notable, with many companies accepting various branches, which might give you a broader chance at placements compared to IIIT, where competition for internships and job placements is more intense. If you're looking for a more economical choice with decent placement opportunities, MNNIT Allahabad is the smarter pick; however, if you have a strong inclination towards electronics and can handle the financial burden, IIIT could be worth considering.

Considering placements and internships, MNNIT Allahabad for Industrial & Production Engineering seems more favorable due to its broader eligibility for placement rounds across branches, which increases your chances of getting a job. While IIIT Allahabad offers strong technical programs, the highly competitive nature of internships there means fewer students land them. MNNIT also has a vibrant campus life that enhances overall development, which is crucial for networking and skill-building. If you’re more inclined towards securing a job with a diverse set of opportunities post-graduation, MNNIT is the way to go; however, if you're passionate about electronics and want to delve deeper into that field, IIIT could be a better fit despite the tougher landscape.

MNNIT Allahabad offers a vibrant campus life with numerous clubs and extracurricular activities, which can be a big plus if you're looking for a well-rounded college experience. The curriculum is structured under the new education policy, giving you a good foundation from the start, but internships can be quite competitive. On the other hand, IIIT Allahabad has a strong reputation in Electronics & Communication Engineering with a higher placement record and more rigorous academic expectations, though the fees are higher. If you're more inclined towards industrial production and value a lively campus, MNNIT might be the way to go, but if you're aiming for top-tier placements in tech, IIIT Allahabad is likely a better fit. Personally, I'd lean towards IIIT Allahabad for the stronger job prospects in the electronics field.

I'm a civil engineering student at MNNIT, but I'll do my best to answer your question!

  • Production and mechanical engineering branches are quite similar. The courses are often the same, and classes are combined at MNNIT.
  • The production branch is average—not particularly strong—while mechanical engineering is considered one of the best branches at MNNIT.
  • To be frank, the placement conditions for branches like civil, mechanical, and production engineering are not very good. If you're focused solely on placement, you might want to reconsider this branch or college.
  • Don't get swayed by the reputation of "MNNIT." Just getting into a good college like MNNIT or NITW doesn't guarantee a well-settled career or a good job. It all depends on you and your performance.
  • Your performance is linked to your interest in the subject. So, I would say prioritize the branch over the college.

Make sure to fill your choices and preference order carefully. All the best for your counseling! And if you're genuinely interested in production and want to join MNNIT, you're welcome! :)

P.S. Feel free to message me for any help regarding choice filling and counseling!

It's not looking great, as placements have been declining. However, that doesn't mean it will continue to be the same for all years. You can choose this branch without issues, but if you have the option of a lower branch in a better NIT like NIT Warangal or NIT Surathkal, you should definitely prefer that. You'll have more opportunities there.

At NIT Allahabad, very few companies recruit for non-circuit branches, which creates problems for placements in these fields. That's why I recommend considering a better college than this.
