Which one should I opt for NIT Trichy B.Tech Civil Engineering or NIT Surathkal B.Tech Electrical and Electronics Engineering

The quality of professors here is very good. Their teaching methodology and behavior are commendable. Plus, there's renovation happening in the civil department, which is a positive sign.

However, when it comes to placements, civil engineering generally has lower placement rates everywhere. It often requires experience, higher degrees, and good contacts with contractors.

For placement factors, NIT Trichy is a solid choice since it is one of the best NITs. But if you consider all factors like beaches, professors, fests, and the department, NITK Civil could be a better option!

I recommend you follow your interest! What excites you more: electrical/electronic machines or structures/skyscrapers? Follow your heart, work hard, and any branch can lead to great financial success if you excel in it.

• The average package offered to civil engineering students at NIT Trichy is approximately 6 lakhs, with an 86% placement rate in 2017.
• For electrical engineering, 86% of students were placed at NIT Nagpur, but I don't have the average package data for that.
• If you want to go with the crowd, choose electrical. A lower cutoff for electrical means more people are interested in that branch.
• If you aim for a top NIT, NIT Trichy is a great choice.
• However, if you want electrical at NIT Trichy, you’ll need to work really hard and achieve a strong CGPA in your first year to switch branches.

Hey, I think your choice really depends on your interests! Those two fields are completely different. NIT Trichy is a fantastic college and has a better ranking than NIT Surathkal, that's for sure! But remember, civil engineering and electrical engineering are worlds apart.

Think carefully before making your decision. Consider what matters in the long run!

There is always an option for branch change, but it requires considerable effort to achieve that.

However, if you have a passion for electrical engineering and want to explore that field, NIT Surathkal is still a great option.

NIT Surathkal is great too, particularly for Electrical and Electronics, but you may find NIT Trichy's offerings more financially viable in the long run.
