The quality of professors here is very good. Their teaching methodology and behavior are commendable. Plus, there’s renovation happening in the civil department, so it’s also improving.

However, when it comes to placements, civil engineering placements are generally low everywhere. This field often requires experience, higher degrees, and connections with contractors.

For placement factors, go for Trichy since it’s the best NIT. But if you consider all aspects like beaches, professors, fests, and the department, NITK Civil is a solid choice!

NIT Trichy offers solid placement opportunities, especially in civil engineering, with a 100% placement rate and an impressive highest package of 53 LPA, making it a great choice for job prospects. In contrast, NIT Surathkal specializes in electronics and communication and provides internships from reputable companies, with a respectable placement rate of 79.8%. While both colleges have strong internship support and scholarship options, NIT Trichy's higher package potential gives it an edge. If you're leaning towards civil engineering and are focused on maximizing salary potential, NIT Trichy is the way to go; however, if you're interested in electronics and value diverse internship experiences, NIT Surathkal could be the better fit for you.

NIT Trichy for Civil Engineering and NIT Surathkal for Electronics & Communication both have their strengths, but I'd lean towards NIT Surathkal. The curriculum there is constantly updated with a focus on practical learning, which is crucial for ECE. The internship opportunities with top companies like BHEL and ADANI can give you a significant edge in your career. While NIT Trichy boasts impressive placements, especially with 100% placement rates for Civil Engineering, NIT Surathkal's modern approach seems more aligned with industry needs. Campus life at both institutions is vibrant, but NIT Surathkal's clubs and extracurricular activities might offer a more enriching experience. I'd recommend NIT Surathkal if you're inclined towards a dynamic ECE career, while NIT Trichy is a solid choice if you're passionate about Civil Engineering.

NIT Trichy for Civil Engineering and NIT Surathkal for Electronics & Communication both offer solid education, but NIT Trichy seems to offer better value for money. The lower fees at NIT Trichy (around Rs. 62,500 per semester) compared to NIT Surathkal makes it a more attractive option, especially given that it also has a strong placement record, with 100% placements and high packages reaching up to Rs. 53 LPA. While NIT Surathkal provides good internship opportunities with reputable companies, the slightly higher fees and lower placement percentage (79.8%) make it less ROI-friendly. For someone focused on financial aspects, NIT Trichy is the smarter choice. If you're inclined towards core engineering with a good financial return, pick NIT Trichy; if you prefer a tech-oriented path and can manage the costs, then NIT Surathkal might be your pick.

CSE is good, but only for a limited time (like around 20 years). After that, AI will significantly impact the CS sector. So, choosing CSE comes with risks.

If placements are your main concern, go for ECE. NIT Trichy and NIT Surathkal are among the best in NITs!

ALL THE BEST!
