Remarks
Everything is good even the staff except the office staff who are very slow when it comes to any student work. And also the campus is quite small and a bit shabby. Everything else is spot on i.e. the kind of education and other facilities it provides.
Course Curriculum Overview
It is just like a normal BCOM Course except the electives which come in the picture. In the SY we've to choose whether to opt for Finance or Marketing or the HR elective according to our preferences. Each elective has a different subject provided by the particular college. Exam structure of Mumbai University colleges is 25 marks internals from college i.e. 20 marks for written or projects or presentations and 5 marks for your attendance. The other 75 marks are for your external semester written exam. Autonomous colleges decide the structure of their exams and curriculum according to their own plans since they are private colleges and very hard to get into.
Placement Experience
Mulund College of Commerce does provide placements and job opportunities. Companies like TCS and Deloid come to the campus for recruiting the students whether or not they have a high grade. The college guides the students in every possible manner to step into to corporate world to achieve higher excellence as well as to opt for more higher education. BMS students are especially given the opportunity to make a research based project or do an internship based on your elective or your choice. This project is to be made in a Blackbook which by the end of the year is submitted to the Mumbai University and is of great use ahead. Our college does not provide internship based programmes.
College Events
The events can be arranged by various course members. BMS arranges Inspira that is the biggest event of BMS in the start of the academic year. By the end of the year there comes a more bigger event than Inspira that is Spectrum. And other events include Soch, Swacch Abhiyan by NSS unit, etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Feasible for other, sc and st categories. Expensive for Open categories. I paid almost 21k for my TY admission. My friend who from some sc or st category paid 5k-6k which comparitively is lot less than what others pay.
Fees and Financial Aid
Mulund College of Commerce provides scholarships to the students who cannot afford education or higher education. This is a good facility for these students. Students just have to enroll their names who are interested in opting for scholarship.
Campus Life
Sports such as Volleyball, cricket, box cricket, table tennis, carrom, badminton, Dodgeball, Chess are played by number of students who actively participate in these very interesting programmes. Our college does good inter collegiate events.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumini Network is according to me not as strong as it seems. Nothing helpful can be found on any websites in the moment of need. Nobody cares except when it comes to them. The merit list is not at all displayed on time.
Admission
I got in MCC in the Second Year Degree College. It was actually a simple process. I went to the MCC office to enquire, they asked me for my 12th and first year grade card copies and gave me a form to fill. I attached my copies to the form and sumbmittes to the respected person. A few days later I got a call from the MCC office that I was getting admitted to the college and I had to bring an NOC from my current college. I completed all the formalities and got admitted. I had an A grade throughout the First Year with 8.70 CGPA.
Faculty
The best thing about our college is that we have permanent as well as visiting faculties which encourages adding more knowledge to whatever subjects we go through. Most of our BMS faculties have PhD, MPhil and many other different qualifications. But that does not matter when it comes to impeccable teaching, and that this college also provides by allowing us to indulge with our outstanding teachers and guides to achieve our many objectives.
