Remarks

DTU was one of the most important and memorable experiences of my life. I went in as one person, came out a totally difference person. I improved as a person drastically and seeing other people from school who went to other colleges, I can feel a differen

Entrance Preview

I took AIEEE in 2010 and got a rank of around 15k. I opted for this college because it is the best college in Delhi after IITs, ranking wise. It was near to my house, just 2.1 km.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

First year course was common for all the student, it had subjects from all the streams along with advanced Maths, Physics and Chemistry and respective labs. For the next three years, my stream (Environmental) had a mixture of Environmental and Civil engineering subjects. It broadly consisted of Pollution control, water and waste water treatment and Environmental Impact Assessment related subjects dealing with compliance and environmental laws. The subjects were in line with the demand in industry.

Internships Opportunities

Yes they do provide internship but not many opt for it. Intra-college internships are popular mostly in Mechanical and Computer students as those departments have good labs and workshops. They do not provide any stipend I think. No-one from my department opted for internship in college as we had better options outside.

Placement Experience

4

I was not placed within campus but the job opportunities were ample for all students in college. Most of the students who are good are placed in good companies. Rest of them are taken by Tata, IBM and HCL, though very less opt to continue in them. as they provide a low package of around 3.5 LPA or even less.Computer students bag the highest packages. Someone even got a 1 Cr plus package. The average package most people got was around 5 LPA.Many companies offering business analyst (BA) profiles also come and people who change their mind during the course of the study to opt out of technical stuff can opt for BA profiles, they usually provide a higher package than tech companies.

College Events

4.5

Fests were the best days of the year. We have Cultural and Technical fests separately.Cultural Fests had dramas, music shows, DJ shows, dance shows and inter-college competitions and also recently introduced car shows, not every college does it. We call it Engifest. The Battle of Bands (band competition) was not organised in a proper way during my course. I was a part of a band and got to perform only twice in four years. Though, they tried, but couldn't organise it properly. Some celebrities do come to our college every year. Apart from the cultural fest, we have tech fests. Almost every stream in the college has its tech fest and they involve interesting competitions among colleges and for in-campus students also. Tech fests are better in organisation than cultural ones. Both the fests are quite big and make full use of the huge campus area.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible or expensive totally depends upon the financial status of the student. However, for me, it was feasible. Its a government college so its much cheaper than private ones. However, the college fees has drastically increased after our batch, comparable to private colleges. It was 42000k per year in my case and increase to 60k the next year. The batch prior to ours gave 25k per year (when it was DCE).

Fees and Financial Aid

I don't have much idea about it as the fees was not much, so almost everybody could afford it.One of my friend took loan from bank but from the college, I don't think any scholarships or anything was provided.

Campus Life

4

Gender Ratio- Apart from Mech and Automotive, the gender ratio was good. Almost 50:50. Mech and Auto had just 1% girls out of total.Diversity- We had people from all over India in the college. However, people from common states, areas prefered staying and grouping together, particularly Haryana. Not much official parties from college were held but it does not mean that the life was not happening there, it was. We have a theater nearby and a place called Metro walk for eating and hanging out. The college campus itself is so big that we dont need to go out for enjoying. We had many canteens in campus to eat and munch. Competitions like debates and robotic stuff were mostly held during the tech fests however there was always something happening in college.Sports events were held separately, I think there was a Sports week. Though it was not much advertised and organised between the sports oriented people only. We have an Open Air Theater (OAT) which is a huge part where we used to sit and chat and bathe in the sun in winters. Most of the free time in college was spent in the OAT.

Hostel Facilities

3

I was a day scholar but I had friends in hostels and I stayed sometimes. Hostels were dirty, mess food was pathetic. But I wished I had got to experience that. Yes, hostel seats are few and you need to have your residence 60 km away from college in order

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni meets were held in college but they were boring. Senior students did help but not that much. I cannot recall any senior who helped me out academically.

Exam Structure

We had midsem and endsems.Midsems were 20 marks papers which were held with no gaps in between. They lasted for a week and it was okay for us. The endsems lasted for around 15 days. Each exam had a day of two gap in between. Like Monday-Wednesday-Friday-M

During the first year, the faculty was mostly M.Tech students who were not much experienced in teaching, it was hard understanding the concepts taught by them. Experienced teachers also were not much serious about first year students. During the rest of t

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good in DTU. Usually a student is eligible to sit in placements from 4th year. Last year 325+ companies visited the campus like google, abode, Amazon, Microsoft, zomato, samsung, maruti suzuki, etc. They all have made 2050+ offers. The highest domestic package was offered by Atlanssian of 82.05LPA. The overall average package was 16.71LPA. The average package of my branch (Production and Industrial Engineering) was 12.34LPA. And in tech branches like CSE, IT it was around 24-25 LPA. Almost everyone is allowed to sit for placements. In PIE branch around 60-65% of student got placed in on campus.
