I would definitely recommend PSG for anyone to gain good knowledge in their field of interest. It gives you a good practical exposure that will help you develop your career. Also there are lot of student exchange programs.

The course is structured in a way that is best suited according to the latest industry standards. Every two or three years, the course-coordinator along with a committee will revisit the curriculum and make changes as necessary. We have 3 internals out of which best 2 two will be considered. Internals and final exam hold 50:50 weightage.

The placements in PSG is one of the best among all the colleges in Coimbatore. There are a wide range of companies that come to the campus for placements. Most of the companies that offer placements also offer internship for one semester. In my course I had two internships - one in 7th semester and one in 10th semester. In 7th semester I did a research intern with University of South Australia and in 10th semester I did my intern with Cerner Healthcare Solutions and I was given a stipend of 22500.

We have various technical symposiums all around the year. Industrial giants will be invited for these symposiums which gives us an idea of the industry and what we should expect after our graduation. This helps us identify our dream companies and set a goal for ourselves.

The fee structure is slightly on the expensive side. It would be around 1-1.5 lakh per year ( hostel fee not included ). Fees has to be paid for semester wise. Fee can be paid in cash or demand draft.

The State Government offers scholarship for top rank holders in Government schools. All bank loans will also be eligible. The college also has a Trust that supports needy students. Also there are cases where the Alumni also sometimes pool in and contribute if the student is going through a bad situation.

Every week we have dedicated one hour for sports and one hour for library. Also each paper will have a dedicated 1.5 hours of lab every week. Apart from this the students are allowed to use the library and lab facilities any time of the day.

PSG has a very strong alumni network. Each department has its alumni meet every year. Apart from this most of the cities have Alumni chapter that has regular meetings. The alumni encourage their companies to visit the college for placements.

I had an initial screening and then a face-face interview. The questions were on Maths, Computer Science and Physics. The interviewers were quite friendly and also allow you to show any extra-curricular talent that you have.

The faculty are just too good. They are very friendly and make sure we understand the concepts and not just study for the purpose of exams. They entertain students to take seminars and have doubt sessions periodically.
