Remarks
Very good college as it has many benefits compared to other medical colleges in west bengal. It is located in Kolkata and is accessible to all urban facilities. It also has state of the art infrastructure and very clean hospital.
Course Curriculum Overview
MBBS needs a lot of dedication and hard work. Requires developing skills. We have regular weekly internal exams, semester exams 6 monthly and one University exam at end of each year. Also there are ward ending exams.
Placement Experience
We have 3 years service bond. We will have to work as resident doctor in any of the ESI hospital all over india. During internship 23k is the stipend. During the service around 80k is provided as salary.
College Events
Many events are celebrated. Saraswati puja, onam, ganesh chaturthi and lot all festivals like onam and makar Sankranti. We also have college fest - Surge and fresher's - Crescendo. We also hold annual sports and intra college tournaments.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It's a central govt. Undertaken clg. So fees are higher. Rs. 50,000 per semester for state quota and all india quota students. For ESI quota, rs. 24,000 per annum is the fees. There's a bond of 10 lakhs for discontinuity until the service.
Fees and Financial Aid
College itself does not provide scholarships or loans to students. Educational loans maybe availed for tution fees. National or state scholarships are also applicable. Many banks provide loans so it's not a problem.
Campus Life
Very good laboratories. State of the art infrastructure. All sports are available. Outdoor sports like cricket football tennis, badminton. Indoor ones like carrom, table tennis, etc. Everything is well maintained and regular tournaments are held.
Alumni/Alumna
Very strong alumni. They remain in contact with the present batch. They are very helpful and teach many skills in hostel and wards. They are very friendly. We have batch reunion during the college fest.
Admission
Through NEET a state rank list was made. Depending on the rank I chose ESIC MCH as it's close to my home. Two other merit list are also made, all india quota and ESI quota. They have separate nos. Of seats for each merit list.
Faculty
Very helpful and student friendly. They are highly qualified. Some department lack ample faculty, but there's enough to maintain academics. They are very punctual. The professors are highly experienced.
