Vivek Thakkar's Review On L.D. College Of Engineering - [LDCE], Ahmedabad

Positive is placement facilities and prestige of college in Gujarat. It has very large and green campus which many colleges have not. Negative is some faculties don't interested to complete the syllabus, students have to do self study.

Course of gtu is outdated it should be improved with modern machinery. GTU has very bad paper checking system. It should be improve as it is connected with the life of students. Exam structure is quite good.

Placement is quite good, nearly 60% in mechanical engineering. College doesn't provide any internships, student have to do it by self. And in that internship no stipend provided. Average package is nearly 4 LPA.

There are many events celebrate in college campuses like TARANG, LAKSHYA etc. Most of the events organized by clubs of college, they give opportunities to students to handle and manage the events. that is the plus point.

Free structure is very nominal as it is goverment college. Annual fees nearly equal to 2370 rs. For boys and 870 rs. For girls, in which 1500 rs. Goverment fees(only for boys) and 870rs. is college fees. Hence it is nominal fees compared to self finance colleges which has almost 1lpa fees.

No scholarships provided by college. Students have to self find the scholarships after that form will be verified by college administration. Many scholarships provided by goverment, student section of college inform us about that regularly.

There are almost every type of sports facilities in college campus, labs are not so good as it is goverment college. Many extracurricular activities are there in college in events like Lakshya, TARANG etc.

No I haven't opted for hostel. As I am from Ahmedabad itself so I don't need any hostel. My many friends residing in hostels, as per their opinion hostel infrastructure is quite good but not so clean.

Seniors help a lot. They suggest us what to do in future, suggest books which should we buy, how to get internship by self etc. Seniors also suggest how to prepare for exams. Not have any experience about alumni helps.

I got Addmision through ACPC(ADMISSION COMMITTEE FOR PROFESSIONAL COURSES). They produce merit list based on 12th marks and GUJCET(entrance examination) marks combination in which 60% of 12th marks and 40% of GUJCET marks calculated to made merit list.

College faculties are well educated and have good knowledge about subjects. But as it is goverment college students have to do self study, because faculties don't have any proper responsibilities. Some faculties also have ego issues.
