On the way of betterment

The college is good but after two or three years, it will have a different image as i have written the the title on the way to betterment as more students are contributing to the image of the College

Course curriculum is MAKAUT based. As it is an autonomous college, so it manages its own exam schedule but the syllabus is again MAKAUT based.The courses provided by the college is according to MAKAUT but it is very helpful in preparing for engineering services exam as its exam are very much written language based, it also helps to prepare for GATE exam.

As I am in core department the placement is average, about 50% of students gets placed every year in IT companies and also in some core companies. The average package offered is about 4.10 Lacs per annum. As a softer engineer in IT companies. As It is an electrical engineering department so every student doesn't go for internship.

There are many college fests both cultural and tech fests happens in our college. I would rate college events as 9/10 as there are ample amount of events happens in our college. The cultural fest called JECLAT ranks 3rd in West bengal. The tech fest like sristi also happens in our college.

The fee structure of the college is feasible as compared to other premium colleges. Like the per semester tuition fees of EE is only Rs. 5432. So it isnt expensive as it's a government college. But the IT fees is costlier than other departments in our college as the EE department is the oldest department created compared to other departments in our college.

Though I haven't availed any scholarships but many students got scholarships in our department, alumni association helps to provide student scholarship.

The campus life is awesome, especially in winter season in which you can see the kanchanjhunga mountain from the college campus, there many playground in our college campus.Gender ratio is same as in all other engineering colleges have, less girls than boys. In our college tech fest sristi students of 3rd year organise the events which have robotics competition, debates, etc. Its very good and also very competitive.

Hostel fee is around 17408 in first semester including the caution money, in 2nd semester it is 12000.so overall four year money will be 95000 for 8 semesters. Hostel facilities are good, chicken is provided three days , fish curry is provided two days in our meal.There is also asports section in the hostel where you can play cricket and football etc.

The alumni is very helpful in our college, they organise an bridge the gap event and also call the college well established alumni, to motivate the students. They give scholarships to students who needs financial support.

I gave wbjee entrance exam in 2018 and secured 7777 and went to lock my seat via counselling round held by WBJEE board. I had to pay 5000 INC to lock my seat and then I went to the college under student verification program where I submitted my documents and then I paid my fees and got admission in the college.

The professors of jalpaiguri government engineering College are very good and they are very experienced. They provide quality content and they also take class test to evaluate student performance once they complete their subjects. Course curriculum is MAKAUT based.
