The only negative remark about IGIT is the transportation to the college. It is situated in Dhenkanal and bank of Bramhani river. You have to reach Talcher station for going out. Which is nearly 16 kms from the college. There is no near by hospital for student emergency. In positive college introduced Ambulance facilities for students. There are many Dhabbas for foodies and two 3 star hotels in Talcher. You must call Autos for going out.

For the year 2016-20 only 4 Companies came college for hiring purpose. For the rest like TCS INFOSYS COGNIZANT CAPE-GEMINI WIPRO you have to seat in off campus drive.The Total placements for TCS was 35. Cognizant hired 15. The companies like Tech-Mahindra hired 20, Amplysis 10, Gyansis hired 5, Jaro hired 1, Infosys hired 8. The salaries are ranging between 3.6 lakhs to 12 lakhs LPA. Maximum placed are from CSE(30). In Electrical it was 20. Vedanta, TATA Bsl will come IGIT for placement drive. Our college invites faculties from CTTC BBSR for internships. You can apply for scholarships like Prerana for stipends.

IGIT conducts the second biggest Tech fest "Horizon" in INDIA. Different tech programs are conducted in this fests. Students from different colleges attend our Tech fest. Our Robotics society got fame across India. Apart Horizon every branch has their own fest conducted. Stars from bollywood (Gajendra verma and Yesser Desai) and Dj (Dj dubai) were invited for Horizon.

According to me the fee structure is very low for the standard. The college infrastructure is very good. Its just 34k. For hostel accommodation the yearly cost is 36k. So the total cost is 70k. The hostel will repay you if some amount is left. Hostel returned me 5k in 1st years. 4k in 2nd years. The hostel is hygienic. You will be provided with Washing machine and free Wifi. There is a Tv room. And there's a basketball and Badminton court in every hostel( except 1st years). The hostel food is very tasty, the only reason i love my hostel. The menu is made by students secretary. 7 days 7 different dishes. 6 times chicken items. In 3rd year only 2 students are to accommodate in one room. In 4th year you will get your one.

Loan facilities are being provided by College SBI branch. And Scholarship like Prerana(60k) and a 10k scholarship are available for students with family yearly income less than 6 lakhs. They scholarship amount will be credited to your account before the commencement of next year's curriculum.

IGIT has a play ground(MK ground) bigger than most of the colleges in Odisha. Sports fest Utshhana is conducted every year. With football matches and cricket matches. Students form different colleges of Odisha are invited. Beside these Badminton, volleyball, basketball and other digital games like PUBG CS-GO are also given preference. There is a badminton and basketball court in every hostel and in College building. P.E.T teacher is appointed. Teachers for Judo, Wushu is also provided.

There's a Welcome function conducted by every branch seniors for junior students. The juniors also give farewells to the Seniors. And as i am currently in final year i have no proper knowledge about Alumni programs. But a Student from IGIT alumni got a better rank in Civil service examination 2019 and selected for IAS.

As IGIT is a Government Engineering college. Thus you need to give JEE main entrance exam. For a good branch your rank must be 1 lakh to 2.5 lakhs( for general category) and upto 6 lakhs (for SC-ST). I had a rank 1.28lakh and got a seat in Electrical Engg. The date for admission was 01-09-2016. I attended the orientation program and the next day i was instructed to fill a form for Hostel accommodation. For 1st year boys(if rank is below 2 lakhs) there's a hostel name "Akash Bhawan". Otherwise you have to stay outside college boundary. There are 3 houses for accommodation of students with score below 2 lakhs. For all girls there's a hostel, "Rohini Bhawan".The deposition of fees was through DD in 2016. But now you can deposit the amount by internet banking. Now I went to Akash Bhawan. A list of students was made by the hostel Superintendent according to the Jee main score. Every room can accommodate minimum 4 boys. For girl's it's 6 per room. After filling the form i need wait for the keys. Once I got keys the whole procedure ended.

Per branch are 10-12 professors and TE-Quip teachers(all IITians). There are contractual faculties as well. For GATE college has invited Gate faculties from Gate coach and Gate forum. College has also invited faculties for CAT and banking examination preparation. College provides faculties for Campus pre-placement programs. There are different faculties for Theoretical and practical classes.
