Remarks

Most of the things about DTU is decent, whether you talk about placements, infrastructure, faculties, industry relationships etc. But, what can be better at DTU, in my view is the research environment. Overall conclusion about the college is that I will highly recommend to join this prestigious college to whoever is reading this review.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum at DTU, is recently updated. It very well covers the subjects relevant to the industry. But at the same time this curriculum does not ensure any research environment. The course curriculum at DTU is built by taking inputs from different industries as well, who are interested in recruiting the graduates of DTU.

Placement Experience

5

The best part about DTU is its placements. Almost 100% students of computer engineering(and other computers related branches) got placed in the season 2018-19. Also placements are very good for other branches too. DTU has very good university-industry relationship with many relevant industries. The placement cell of DTU is very hard working, they reach very good companies and ask them to visit the campus to hire the talent in DTU. The highest package in the placement season 2018-19 is given by facebook-london to 1 student which is 100000GBP(~ 1crore indian rupees). Also around 20 students are given 39lpa package by microsoft. uber has also given away 40lpa to some students. Training and placement cell of DTU also ensures that they provide internship to every eligible student there. Many companies that visit DTU to hire interns are Google, Microsoft, DE-shaw, Arcesium, Uber, Morgan Stanley, Adobe and many more.

College Events

5

There are many events that take place in the college. DTU organizes an annual cultural festival 'ENGIFEST'. ENGIFEST is one of the biggest college festival in north india. It is a three day extravaganza. In engifest we have have events like singing show, dancing show, fashion show, youtube fanfest(DTU), International Artists performance, International DJ and many more. We also have a literary fest 'YUVAAN'. In YUVAAN we get a chance to hear from very famous personalities of INDIA.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Note: Fees is incremented every semester by ~10%. First year fees is given in two parts once when you register for the admission at the JAC PORTAL you pay 50000 + 75000 needs to be paid once your seat is confirmed in the university, thus a total of 1,25,000 needs to be paid for the first year. For second year fees is 1,37,000. For third year fees is 1,51,000. For fourth year fees is 1,66,000. Note: This is the fees structure of 2016 batch. Every year fees in incremented by ~10%.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, I have availed the Delhi government scholarship - "Merit cum means income linked financial assistance scheme". This is a scholarship which provides financial assistance to economically weaker students. The amount of scholarship given under this scheme is given below: 1) 100% - if your family is having national food security card. 2) 50% - if your family income is <2,50,000 3) 25% - if your family income is >=2,50,000 but <6,00,000 (my category)

Campus Life

5

Campus life at DTU, is something you will cherish for rest of your life. If you have to enjoy the campus life to the fullest you must reside in the hostel. I myself being a day scholar enjoys very much being in the campus, think of how much the hostel guys enjoy. During exam time, you will be studying whole night(engineering kar rahe ho na :) ), and sometimes you will feel hungry, don't worry, maggi baba is there for you and your appetite. Also we have a large central canteen(Mech-C we call it), and two other food outlets namely Mic-Mac and Nescafe within the campus. We have a very beautiful lush green campus, which covers around 164 acres of land. There are facilities for sports, medical, research etc. The gender ratio at DTU is quite decent in computer related branches, having girls to boys ratio nearly 1:2. But in other branches like Mechanical it drops to only 1:10 :((said i know).

Alumni/Alumna

DTU has a very large alumni base. To name some of the alumni that have huge impact on the industry are: 1) Vinod Dham( Famously known as the Father of the Pentium Chip) 2) Vijay Shekhar Sharma (Founder of the PayTm - mobile transaction app) 3) Sushant singh rajput (Famous bollywood personality) ... many more Such huge alumni base makes a good image of the college and its students in the industry thus helping us to shape our career. Also, many alumni meets are held throughout the year where you will get a chance to interact with the alumni's. Seniors at DTU, are very much helpful. They are always ready to help you, and get you through the difficult situations. Seniors themselves want to interact with juniors, thus they will come to you in your first semester itself, and share there contacts with you.

Admission

In order to get admission in DTU(computer engineering), you need to have a rank <10k(after seat increment) in jee mains. Mine rank was 5302 and at that time the cutoff for computer engineering was ~6k. So you need to perform very well in jee mains to get computer engineering stream in DTU. Admission process is simple and straight forward, first of all you have to register to the JAC-DELHI portal and input your details there. Then, if you satisfy the rank criteria of any branch you selected you should report in person to the college to freeze your branch else you can wait till next round for any higher branch. you also need to pay rs. 50000 during the registration on the jac portal as security. Generally the admission process starts in month of july and usually there are 5-6 rounds to conduct admission process, if after there rounds there are any seats left, then a special spot round is also conducted.

Faculty

4.5

Most of the teachers in DTU are highly knowledgeable, experienced and supportive. If you ask them any doubt they will try their level best to get it cleared. But at the same time there are teachers who just want to complete syllabus and have nothing do with the growth of their students.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.

Placements are good in DTU. Usually a student is eligible to sit in placements from 4th year. Last year 325+ companies visited the campus like google, abode, Amazon, Microsoft, zomato, samsung, maruti suzuki, etc. They all have made 2050+ offers. The highest domestic package was offered by Atlanssian of 82.05LPA. The overall average package was 16.71LPA. The average package of my branch (Production and Industrial Engineering) was 12.34LPA. And in tech branches like CSE, IT it was around 24-25 LPA. Almost everyone is allowed to sit for placements. In PIE branch around 60-65% of student got placed in on campus.
