I feel the college is a good one in respect to Indian education system. I feel that if anyone does nott get into top rated NIT , then he can think of coming here.

I got admission in BIT Mesra through JEE Mains 2013. I had scored 162 and my CBSE board marks of 89.2%. I got rank of 39875 . I was interested in going into a national level college.

Course structure is based on 8 semesters. There is lot of pressure in first year. The credit amount decreases with each semester.

Companies for internship mainly comes for computer science and IT students. All other branches have to apply off campus for 3rd year internships.

Placement scenario is good in our college. Average package goes to about 6.3 lacs per annum. But most of the dream companies come only for CSE and IT students. For other branches the amount of salary is significantly lower than CSE and IT students. Core companies do visit our campus and some 20-30% of students get placed in them.

There are mainly 2 fests that take place in our college1)Pantheon-Techno management fest where various technical competitions take place2)BITOTSAV- Cultural fest where cultural events take place.Some star performers includes Kailash kher, Farhan Akhtar and Salim sulaiman,Also other small fest regarding branches take place throughout the year.

Fees is quite a lot. You need to pay 9 lacs as tuition and hostel fees.

Scholarships are available for students scoring above 8.5 gpa in a semester and family income of less than 3 lacs.

Extracurricular activities are quite good in our campus. There are near 15 clubs, 10 socialites and various events and competitions going on round the year. You can become member of clubs and enjoy the organizational experience. Gender ratio I think is around 30-40% . Sports facilities are good with a separate sports campus and gymnasium.

Then mess amounts to Rs15000 for a semester.Mess food is above average. You get 4 days non veg.Hostel facility is good. Single room from 2nd year. Hostels are generally clean and bright. Only problem is regarding electricity which happen to go off often.

Alumni base is very large. Some notable alumni include NTPC chairman Arup Roy Choudhary, Lenskart founder Amit chaudhary and many more entrepreneurs and industry veterans. Seniors are quite good. Ragging is almost zero inside the campus.

Faculty is good and classes take place in a very disciplined way. But only 10% faculty is very good and who actually motivates you. Rest are all above average faculty. The focus on research is very less. But a lot of students do projects under the supervi
