Remarks
It's a good college. Trust me, it's like any other college. Wherever you go you'll face some hardships, all of different kinds. And the fee structure is very less so I'll totally recommend you my college.
Course Curriculum Overview
My college is affiliated under MAKAUT so the exam structure is the same as that of all the engineering colleges of West Bengal. My opinion is on the course curriculum is that engineering is not as easy as the society thinks.Yoy really need to work hard.
Placement Experience
There is no opportunity for any placements or internships or anything of that sort. You have to go there on your own risk. If you are from CSE ECE or even Electrical, you might get a job in an MNC through off campus.
College Events
Teacher's day. Like a normal educational institution, we celebrate teachers day. The celebration is not very grand College inauguration day (10th August) Vishwakarma puja. Every engineering college celebrate this festival. This is organised by the ME and Civil depts Tech fests
Fee Structure And Facilities
Since it's a government college, the he fee structure is very light. It's 6,000 per semester for CSE ECE and EE and 3000 for ME and Civil. the hostel fee is 11,500 per semester. Apart from this there are some caution deposits
Fees and Financial Aid
Our College offers half freeship and full freeship. It's a scheme where you have to submit your family income certificate and if it's below a certain amount, you will get a scholarship in which you wouldn't need to pay your college semester fee.
Campus Life
We have decent labs (since I'm from CSE) but there are no proper labs for electrical mechanical and civil. We have sports day and we have all the equipments to play cricket, football, table tennis etc etc
Hostel Facilities
Yes , I live in a hostel. It's a hostel like any other. You'll hear us complain about the hostel food and stuff but the truth is you'll love your hostel life and make friends for life. I had to opt fot the hostel cause there was no other option available.There were no PGs available.
Alumni/Alumna
There are no alumni network as of now.I belong to the first batch of my college. Don't expect any external help for anything. So no help for internships or jobs. 5-6 years from now, there might be some sort of network.
Admission
I got admission in Purulia Government Engineering College through West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination. I had to clear the written then we got ranks and then there was a counselling for respective colleges and branches
Faculty
Faculty of my college is exceptional.They are all good though you might not like the way of teaching of all the teachers. All the professors are highly qualified and are Gazetted officers. Though it doesn't make much difference.
