My Engineering journey in SIT

The positive remark: The faculty is very nice, understanding and bankable. They are always ready for help. The negative remark: The building's lift is still under construction and the cricket ground is not properly made.

The course curriculum is fine. It would have been better if more practical and applied studies would have been included. To learn the applications along with the theory would have made it better. The exam structure is like: we have two internal exams in each semester and one final exam. The final exam includes both theory as well as practical exams. The duration of internal exams is 1.5 hours for each subject and that of Final exams is 3 hours for each subject.

The placement opportunities are quite good. Hundreds of students from my college and branch are working all across the country in big tech and service companies. About 45% student got placed last year and the tally is increasing. Many famous companies like Google, HCL, TCS, Thoughtworks, Capgemini, McAfee come to our college for campus drives. The maximum package offered to a student was 14.5 LPA and the average package is 4.5 LPA.

There are many events celebrated in our college like: 1. Republic Day: it is celebrated in our college in a grand manner. Students and teachers actively take part in the celebration. 2. Holi: it is also celebrated our college with utmost fun and enthusiasm. Very student enjoy and has fun in playing holi. Even some teacher join to celebrate. 3. Winter fest: here, sports, singing, dancing and other activites are performed by students which are very enjoyable. 4. Tech fest: here, competitions are held that test your technology skills. Robot games are held. Quizzes are held. 5. Independence Day: this day too is also celebrated with very much joy. 6. Summer fest: here, students take part in games, art, sports, and other co curricular activities. Also a bollywood night is organised in which musical bands come and play.

It is feasible but little expensive For a B.Tech in computer science and engineering, the fees is ? 4 lacs which is okay for a 4 years course but More facilities could have been provided. They provide us with books but few books are not always available.

My college doesn't provide any scholorship or loan facility for new admissions. I haven't availed for any of them. Yes there are exams which if you pass can get you scholarships but loan facility now not available in our college.

The extra curricular activites in our college are well and good. One can play many sports like football, cricket, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, carrom board, badminton. The Labs are good and air conditioned and have projectors and screens for better learning environment.

Yes. The alumni network is helpful and they visit the college occasionally. The senior students are quite helpful and understanding. They help the juniors with every possible thing. They also teach the students how to manage college life and the carrier with it.

I got my admission in my college through West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE). I had to appear for a exam which had three subjects: Physics, Chemistry and Maths. The question paper was MCQ type. The paper's duration was 3 hours. Then I went through counseling which happens online. There I gave my choice of preference of colleges and according to that preference, I got my college. Then I had to book my seat by paying offline an amount of Rs. 5000/- to the North Bengal University. And then I had to go to my college and complete my admission process.

The faculty in my college is very learned. They are very much helpful and understanding. They teach us everything very well and in a interesting manner. They solve all our doubts. They make the study more enjoyable.
