CIEM

Positive - The location is easily accessible both by bus or metro. The social life is decent. Negative - The management doesn't really care about the students. The teachers are keeping the college running. Student protests are common.

My course is BTech on Electronics and communication Engineering. The college is under the MAKAUT university of WB. My opinion on ECE is that it's a hot stream right now. Companies really want the ECE engineers in the market rn. Exams are taken semester wise. 1 year has 2 sems. I sem has 2 internals and viva.

Placements are average. Below average actually. There are instances of fake companies coming to the campus and recruiting for money. The students mostly rely on online exams and pool campussing. If I had to rate this topic I'll give a 4/10.

The fees structure is pretty normal. Standard. 40000+ for all the semesters with slight increase as the year goes by. Half fees available for underprivileged students upon providing the necessary documents. Full free also present for students who can't afford.

There is a scholarship programme. I have not been able to avail it. There is no loan structure though. You have to take an educational loan form a bank to pay your sem fees if you need a loan. The college doesn't provide you with one.

CIEM football team is known across many colleges. They participate in reputed competitions and have been able to win most of them. The dance group of CIEM (Skar) has also participated in many competitions/college fests and returned with trophies.

I don't have to use the hostel facilities. CIEM does not have a hostel structure. There are many private Pgs and mess available for the students. Both boys and girls. The locality is safe for the girls at night.

Ragging is non existent in this college. That's a great plus. Seniors are really helpful. Same goes for the alumni. The ex students keep in touch with the college. The current students make sure the alumni feels welcome when they enter the campus.

Get the JEE rank. Then we had to sit for the counseling. I got the college in the second round. We had to visit the RC center. My RC center was JU. I approve the college I got (CIEM). They gave me a form. Had to show it in the college. That's it. Submitted the admission fees and got my student ID.

Not everyone is good. There are a variety of teaching staff. Some really know their subject while some have no clue at all. The latter can be only seen with a book or notes in the hand dictating the words on the book. The former are the real people of interest.
