Remarks

It's a very good college overall. Everyone is nice in here and the course is vast and you've a lot of different options to go through. Faculty is nice, so are the seniors.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

It's a bit cramped up in the 1st year but from 2nd year onwards it's all good. It feels like there's a lot to study and learn in 1st year because we have the option to change our major in 2nd year. Which means we need to study the basics for every major available in the 1st year which is a good thing but the syllabus is vast so we don't have enough time to learn all the things in 1st year. I mean what's the point of teaching all the stuff if we can't retain almost any of it in 2nd year. Here, we have the following exam pattern: one mid semester exam and an end semester exam per semester with practicals carrying almost majority of the marks whose exams happen during the end of the semester.

Placement Experience

3.5

I'm still a freshman but from what I've heard from seniors, placements here are pretty good relatively(because of all those IITs and NITs being the center of every company's way to go for employing good students). It doesn't fall behind when it comes to internships though. Our college is very reputed in our state so a lot of internship programmes are available here.

College Events

3.5

I've yet to see the events of this college but from what I've heard from my elder brother, the events here are good. The college fest is where the real fun is. It's a 3 day long fest where students from all different colleges all over the Odisha come to participate and also some from out of state too. Apart from that, we've a sports meet which is 2 days long. And we observe any observable day on the calendar in the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's very feasible for a middle class family and somewhat affordable for lower class people. The regular courses fees are low for an engineering college and also it's a government college so it has its own benefit.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are various scholarship schemes available for students here to help them with their studies. Unfortunately I can't remember the names of those scholarships, but they provide various degree of help to those who need them.

Campus Life

4

We have various clubs for many sorts of activities like Idea Cell for innovation, Entrepreneurship Cell for those who want to do something for themselves and for the people ofc, SAE for those with love for automobiles, Enigma for coding lovers, Souls club for those with a Knick for singing and dancing, and an Art club for all the artists. All of them have achieved something major in intercollegiate competitions. We also have time for sports like football, cricket, volleyball to name a few. It's very good in overall.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel infrastructure is pretty good for an old building. The hostel faculty is good and the students' council is pretty good too. The mess here is a bit messy and the bathrooms are kinda unhygienic but overall is a pretty good hostel to live in. But then again, it costs very low to live in the hostel, so I guess we can compromise a bit.

Alumni/Alumna

I've yet to meet any alumini of this college but the seniors here are just like any other college(IYKWIM). They're pretty helpful in the lab, but as I said I'm still a freshman so I can't say anything more. I hope I'll know how the seniors here are by 2nd year.

Admission

I applied for JEE MAINS and cleared it. Then I used my JEE information to login on OJEE website to apply for this college. And I ended up getting into this college. We had the admission started on 8th of August where we were to produce required documents like aadhar card and JEE rank card with a few other important stuff. By the end of the day, our admission process was complete. The admission process went upto 10th of August.

Faculty

4

It's good for a state government college. The faculty here is pretty good. I can't say much because I'm still a freshman who hasn't even completed his 1st semester yet. But so far what I've seen they are very dedicated for students who really want to study. In practicals they help out A LOT. They guide us on every step(probably because they don't want us to hurt ourselves and break lab equipments which are pretty expensive BTW).

The placement opportunities at KIIT are quite good, especially for us the CSE students. The eligibility criteria for campus placements starts from 7th semester. Many well-known companies visit the university every year like TATA Consultancy Services , Infosys, Wipro, Accenture and Capgemini. The average package offered is around 6-8 lakhs and highest package offered around per yr avg is 50-60 lakhs. The percentage of students getting placements is around 90% plus in average per yr. After completing my degree, i plan to work in software industry and gain more experience in the field of technology

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
