Remarks
The location of the College is in the heart of the city. This is surely it's USP. Ample opportunities to learn and explore are available. The infrastructure needs to be taken care of and the labs need to be shipped with modern day technology.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course Curriculum was not excellent but, could complete 60% of the GATE syllabus. Also, certain electives(inter-departmental) in the final year made the curriculum more interesting. Exams included usually 3 quizzes, mid-term exam, end-term exam and a project.
Placement Experience
Ample job opportunities are provided on the campus. Although, the core companies come for mostly CSE. Other branches the placements are majority in non-core companies. College provides internship opportunities, companies visit for internships also as the internship in this college is for 16-24 weeks which provides great exposure to students in their 6th semester itself. I also got an internship through campus and got 35k INR per month.
Fee Structure And Facilities
During my course the fee was 55k per semester and approx 60k per year for hostel accommodation. Now, the per semester fees has been increased to approx. 80k. Yes, it is feasible considering the fee structures of other colleges including NITs and IITs.
Fees and Financial Aid
I did not avail any of the scholarship or loan facility during my college. But, one thing I know every branch's rank opener's fee is waived for the first semester. The year wise topper of each branch is declared and gets fee waived off. There are several schlorships for SC/ST, girls students and EWS.
Campus Life
Extra curricular activities are mainly in terms of debating, drama, dancing, singing, playing an instrument and more. Also, there are several technical clubs like IEEE, SESI, Robotics. The cultural and technical clubs are really good and are taken care by the seniors only. One really gets to learn a lot from them and it helps for their future also.
Hostel Facilities
Not very well maintained infrastructure, though every student gets a single room right from the first year. That's a great thing for sure. The buildings are very old and mess food is not very up to the mark.
Alumni/Alumna
PEC boasts of it's Alumni network. There is strong connection between the seniors and other Alumni. This network really helps one personally and for the progress of the college also. There are many students who got internships and job offers through the alumni connections. Seniors help a lot to get through the placements in the college. They are always there to give fruitful advice.
Admission
Counselling via JAC(Joint Admission Committee) based on All India Rank(AIR) in JEE Main 2015 Exam. Now, perhaps the counselling is done through the JoSAA(Joint Seat Allocation Authority)/CSAB but, still the criterion remains the same that is JEE Main Exam AIR.
Faculty
Average teaching skills not very interested in teaching something extra(out of the syllabus/books). Some teachers are good too. Assignment work should be evaluated properly and that's the only way students will ever learn by themselves which is completely missing here. Though, the teachers let students decide what they want to do and students are also happy by their cooperation in this way. Pros and Cons are there.
