Remarks
The positive part of the college is the infrastructure and the autonomous part, but at the same the the autonomy has also been a bad part of the college as the attendance criteria has been raised alot and some professors can not go upto the mark in teaching due to mixed portion and as there is no specific material to refer from. But hopefully in the next one or two years every problem will be resolved.
Course Curriculum Overview
Bcom is generally for students who were under commerce background untill HSC. This course gives overview and basic information on various sub fields in the commerce or finance sector. Since mithibai college is autonomous it has its own exam structure which is different from the rest of the colleges which all are under the Mumbai University. In Mithibai, there are 2 semesters each year, i.e., 6 semesters in total. Each subject carries 100 marks distributed as 75 marks written paper and 25 marks internals. Internals usually have presentations.
Placement Experience
Yes, mithibai college does provide placements. We have a dedicated Placement Cell to look after the placements. Their work includes accepting the CV's of the students and finding some good offers for them from the Organisations which have tie up with us. The stipend depends upon the company size, the job role, etc.
College Events
There are too many events being organised by Mithibai College. The most famous event that is organised by us is called "Kshitij" which is the yearly fest of our college. There are other events as well in various committees such as the Economics Committee, the Environmental Committee, etc. Even the Ted Talks and Inspirational sessions are held by the college to guide and motivate the students.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure in aided section of Bcom is very feasible. College provides best of amenities and services at the lowest amount of fees. The fees for the self financed courses are also very reasonable as per the services provided. Overall since Mithibai gets some aide from the government it charges very feasible and reasonable fees to its students.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college provides scholarship facilities to the financially underprivileged students who deserve better facilities and the ones who need them by offering them good amount of scholarships against the exam which could be cracked by the deserving one.
Campus Life
There are various extra curricular activities held by the college such as trekking, sports events, etc. Mithibai has a dedicated Gymkhana for students who want to play indoor games in the college such as table tennis, carrom, chess, etc. There are also some scientific laboratories in the college for the sake of experiments for the science background students.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors in the college are very helpful regarding the notes or the reference material, the guidance notes, the facilities available in the college, the events held by the college for the students, the events that are beneficial for the students, and much more.
Admission
The merit list is displayed and then within the next 3 days the students who have their names in the merit list have to submit their admission forms along with the other required documents. Then after the fees payment is done, the students can start attending the lectures.
Faculty
The faculty is good and are very adaptive to the change in the college. Faculties make sure that the portion is completed from their end so that the students get time to prepare for the exams. The notes are also provided for reference.
