The Journey of 1926 ISM to 2016 IIT

The college is very good and the academics is taken care a lot. But the infrastructural development is still under construction. The infrastructure has to develop the most at present. The best party here is its alumni network in earth science departments.

The course structure is very good. The one who studies these subject combination in their respective branch when will be exposed to industrial or hands on practical work will do them with ease. The Exam structure is that in each year there will be two semester and each semester will have one mid sem exam and one end sem exam. Then there will be regular quiz, assignment and projects.

IIT is known for their placements. Moreover ISM is famous world wide for its earth science department courses. The placement percentage of previous year was 75% and then there are also off campus placements. Moreover various companies come to hire pre final year students to provide them internship. There is also facility of scholarship based on means and merit.

There are various events being celebrated throughout the year in our college. Oit hosts the India's largest geo mining fest KHANAN. There there is also the largest cultural feast of eastern India SRIJAN. Then coming to sports there is pratibimb and many more. Then there are celebration of all festivals of India in pir college with huge enthusiasm.

The fees structure is variant. It is based on caste system. For SC, ST and OBC they have a full waiver on their tuition fees so it is feasible. But for general caste students the fees structure is very high almost 3-3.5 lakhs per annum and hence expensive.

Loan is provided by the SBI bank here inside the campus. No good scholarship is available here as such. There area scholarships mainly on the means cum merit basis. So special scholarship is available based on only merit.

The labs, workshops, machines are highly equipped and are famous also. The earth science departments have all intricate equipments and all for the students. Moreover the sports is also hugely developed. You name a sport and we have it with coaches and regular practice along with friendly matches.

Yes I have opted for hostel. The hostel rooms are too small for two students. Moreover the number of washroom are also not sufficient. There is no extra facilities available. So overall the hostel infrastructure is not at all good.

The alumni network is great mostly in the earth science department. Moreover since the institute is of 1926 so the alumni network is strong enough. The alumnus are spread through out the world. The seniors and junior relationship be is of ISM culture and very unique. The seniors are very helpful.

First we will have JEE Mains exam then those who qualify in that exam will get a chance to give JEE Advanced exam then those who qualifies that exam will jet their rank and using that rank we can get admission here.

The faculty of my college are very knowledgeable and resourceful. We get to know a lot from them. All our doubts are being solved by them. They knows how to teach and also how to make classroom learning more and more effective.
