Review of my college

There is not much negative remarks about my college. But the location of the college is a little offbeat. Though the transportation is quite good but the distance of college from city centre is quite long. On the roads connecting college from metro and railway, there is always some construction work is taking place by the govt.

I am pursuing four years bachelor degree in computer science and engineering. The whole course is divided into eight semesters. In a semester there will be a final semester examination and four internal examinations or unit tests. The first two semesters are same for all streams. From the third semester the syllabus is different for all streams as per their requirements.

The best thing in the college is it's placement Wing. The placements are really good. Specially for the circuit branches. All major IT companies like TCS, CTS, WIPRO, CAPGEMINI, INFOSYS, MINDTRE visits campus and plenty of students got placed there. So the job opportunity is really good compared to the other colleges in Kolkata. Yes, the college provides internship opportunities for the students, many students got internship in CTS, TCS and WIPRO. Stipend is in the range of Rs 6000 to 8000 per month.

XPLORICA the technical club of the college conducts 'PHOENIX' one of the biggest techno-management fest in Kolkata. CULRAV the official cultural club of the college hosts the cultural fests, the official production house of the college ESTRELLA conducts film exhibition named TECH_1 and the photography clubs, music band and dance clubs organise their own events and workshops in a regular basis.

The fee structure is flexible. The fees are quite normal and less than the average amount costs compared to other private colleges. You have to pay the semester fees before the next semester commences.

The college is a private college. So it doesn't provide that kind of scholarships for students. But the college grants lesser fees for a certain percentage for the students with weak economic background scheduled as per government policy. Loan facilities are available.

There are plenty of clubs in the the college. There is technical club which conducts tech fest and many other events and workshops. There is cultural club which hosts the cultural fests. College has it's own production house that produces short films. There's also college's official music band and drance club. And for the sporty people there's also a sport club.

The college doesn't provide it's own hostel facility. But there are many paying guest rentals for students near the college and the college has tie up with them. The paying guest rentals are not expensive though. My home is not too much far from the college, I don't opted for paying guest rental.

Alumnus are very helpful. They always share their experiences of college and those who are in jobs they conduct mock interview sessions for the final year students at least one year before they seat for campus placement drive.

I got my admission through entrance exam. I appeared in west bengal joint entrance exam which takes place after the Higher secondary examinations along with the JEE main and other state entrance examinations. Securing a rank under 30000 is enough to get decent streams in this college.

The faculties of the college are among the best in Kolkata. They all are very knowledgeable and easy to approach for the students. The students hardly get any off period. The day routine of our college is very strict and disciplined. All the lab classes are done properly with patience and flexibly.
