Remarks

It's a best college and your voice will seldom be heard unless it benefits the college in monetary terms or reputation. They promise you false hopes and abandon you in time of need. The mindset is backward and women here face the brunt of it from their colleagues and their professors.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum is slightly outdated as anything that's taught doesn't seem to have a practical standpoint. The exam structure varies from professor to professor but is mainly just 2 quizzes, maybe a surprise quiz and few assignments, a mid semester exam and an end semester exam.

Placement Experience

4

Placements and Jobs opportunities depend heavily on CGPA and a considerable amount depends on the course taken. If it's a circuit course (Comp Sci, Electrical, IT etc) the chances of getting placed is higher. But CGPA plays an important role too. Internships are offered and interviews are held in the 5th semester.

College Events

4

There are plenty of events that are celebrated, two main ones are Engineer and Incident, a tecnical fest and cultural fest respectively. The college contributes to this. Onam, Diwali, Ganesh Chaturti, Holi etc is also celebrated but through students' discretion.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is feasible. It's a government college; if students' parents cannot earn enough, a fee waiver is often offered, even for SC/STs/OBCs. Even for parents who earn well, the fee structure is comparatively reasonable.

Fees and Financial Aid

Students who do not come from a financially stable family have the opportunity to study here because of fee waivers. The parents have to show an income certificate and the procedures are followed accordingly in the institute.

Campus Life

3

Labs are a part of every course, it's a little outdated in my department but informative, nonetheless. Sports is also completely sponsored and very competitive. Extra-curricular activites such as dance, music, acting, fashion etc have different clubs and they're taken part in wholeheartedly.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Our standards for decent living have lowered. They could do better. Our electricity conveniently goes out RIGHT before our mid terms and even during. The washing machines seldom work, the rooms are made for 2 people but they accommodate three in one. What's more, our block timing is strict and it simply doesn't exist for the boys.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is strong, some are our professors. Our seniors are also very helpful and lend a hand whenever they can. They are often incharge of course related clubs which help broaden our experience with the course and offer other interships or chances to learn.

Admission

I am a DASA student so I had to give SAT subject tests for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The total marks would be calculated out of 2400 and, based on course cut off, we would get admission in the first, second, third or fourth round, depending on our course preference.

Faculty

1

I don't trust anyone. They're selfish, unhelpful, unreliant and very ineffecient. There is no uniformity when it comes to ethics or rules to be followed and they're hypocrites. They expect us to achieve something and create an opposing example of themselves.
