Remarks

Mindless student politics is a parasite to this university. There are people who act like phd scholar and resides in the campus for almost a generation are the most politically motivated students. Externally they would brain wash any one by saying wrong doing of authorities and government but at the end all they want is entry to the university faculty list by the influence and connection they created over the years of student politics.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Courses are deasigned to meet the both industry and academic requirements. The curriculum changes once in every 5 years to narrow the differences between education and career prospects. Exams are done semester based so a total 8 semesters for 4 year engineering course.

Placement Experience

3.5

College placement cell is revamped and now it is at par with IITs. Mnay reputed companies come with job offers. The CSE and IT department is the main attraction puller as most of the students have more than one job offer at the end of 4th years. Placement cell do process internships offers along with campus interview but only for handful of companies. Students from core branches find internship at their own connection.

College Events

4.5

Annual spring fest- Sanskriti, Fresher's welcome both of these events are highly participated by students. Many sponsors come. While fresher's welcome can become naughty, spring fest is the true explosion of emotions.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is ridiculously feasible. As this is a state sponsored university to most of the mone comes from taxpayer's pocket. Student do not have to bear the cost of education. It is just rs 2.5 k per year which is lowest in the country.

Fees and Financial Aid

During admission process there are counters by nearby banks for availing education loan but no one need a loan to study at JU. Students find scholarship news by his/her own network. College does not officially provide any news regarding private scholarship but govt scholarship for research work are distributed by college.

Campus Life

4

This university hosts two big size play grounds. Among them one is of international standard as various national and international practice cricket matches are held in that ground. University competes in the inter-university tournaments and have won several trophy. Apart from that basketball court, tennis court and indoor gym fecality available. Labs are ok but lack modern infrastructure.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Yes, there are plenty of hostel rooms available. Dean of students is responsible for all hostel related works. Hostels are in separated campus and it's a heaven for the environment in the midst of a metropolitan. All basic amenities are provided. Students are in charge of daily meal.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is strong. I must say everywhere you go you will find a JU student as your senior. Alumni portal is regularly updated and recent job offers are posted regularly based on one's interest and speciality.

Admission

WBJEE for engineering entrance. MCQ based question paper consists of physics, chemistry and mathematics of class 12 level. This is one of the most coveted engineering entrance exam in eastern india and tough competition also.

Faculty

3

Most of the old teachers are highly qualified and have huge impact on any student's academic record. But newer teachers are not up to that mark and mostly joined university by reference and connection.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
