Review of my college

If you are getting admission here then you will enjoy your college life here with various college fests and the most important thing for which we all are here to get placed in a decent company for which you have to be really serious about your academics. I am currently a 3rd year ECE student with 8.48 CGPA and hope to place in a IT company.

Our college is under MAKAUT University. Here we have a pure technical syllabus and course curriculum with different technical subjects and their respective labs to learn how to apply the theoretical knowledge in practice. In B.Tech course in all we will have 8 semesters in 4 year of course. 2 semesters each year. To get the B.Tech degree you have to clear all the subjects of all the semesters.

The placement scenario is pretty good, with more than 80+ companies visiting each year to recruit final year students. Among various IT and core companies visiting each year TCS, Cognizant, Wipro are some of the mass recruiters. If you are eligible which means that you have scored above 60% throughout your career you can sit in most of the companies, while some companies asks for 80% and above through out, which means if you are eligible you have the chance to sit for the campus drive.

Here we celebrate an annual techfest which is the technical annual fest of our college. In this students from various colleges comes to take part in various innovative events in science and technology with a huge amount of prize money given to the winners and runners. We have our famous cultural fest called Arcadia, students whole year eagerly wait for this event, it is a cultural event where students can showcase their talents in music, dance, acting, etc. Each year we have a special guest appearance this year we had Mika Singh, last year we had Amit Trivedi, before that we had Sunidhi Chouhan.

Our fee structure here is very cheap and reasonable. The tuition fees for each semester is Rs. 41,000 and room rent for hostel accommodation is Rs. 12,000 for each semester. During each even semester, we have to pay Rs. 10,000 for training. Overall our fees structure is feasible and a middle-class family can afford without taking a loan.

Yes, there are various scholarships given by west bengal governments. For example Kanya Shree which is given to girl child whose family income is very low. We also have TWF(Tuition Fee Weaver) for families who cannot support the education of their child. And during the admission process various banks comes to provide loan at very low rate of interests

We have a music room where the interested students can practice and we have a college band. The labs are well equipped with new technologies where we apply our theoretical knowledge into practical. We have a football ground where coach sir gives training to interested students and we also have basketball court and volleyball court where students are given training by experienced coach. Beside this we have a well equipped gym for boys.

We have two separate hostels for girls and boys with 300 capacity. To avail hostel accommodation your house should be from other city or state. Hostel infrastructure is quite good and the room rent for each semester is rs. 12,000 and the mess charge for each month is avg. Rs 2000. Here we have 24 x 7 power supply and water supply. In each floor, there are 9 bathrooms. In each floor there is a aquaguard for pure water supply. And we have a high-speed wifi running all time.

Alumni from our college is well settled in various fields. Most of them are now in a renowned position in big MNC companies. The seniors are really helpful. They are always friendly and ready to help with everything. Ragging is strictly prohibited with a criminal offences. Thus, overall the scenario here is joyous and energetic.

I got admission in this college through West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination. I secured a rank of approx. 25000. After that, i had to do the counciling. There were three rounds of counciling, i got my preferred branch Electronics and Communication Engineering in the second round. After paying the admission fees, tuition fees and other fees i got admission into the college.

Our faculty is well qualified. Each and every professor are M.Tech degree holder, a larger part of them are PhD holders or pursuing Ph.D. from renowned universities like IIT Kharagpur, NIT Durgapur, Calcutta University, Jadavpur University and many more. Prof. (Dr.) Dilip Bhattacharya, renowned Professor of Electronics & Electrical Communication Engineering from IIT Kharagpur and is the Director of Academy of Technology. Average teaching experience of faculty members is 11 years 2 months. 07 faculty members have more than 25 yrs of teaching & research experience.
