A very good college,with everything avaliable in it but the college management should make transparent all the funding and transactions of the institute to each and every student.

I attended JEE mains exam in 2014 and scored 201 out of 360 i got a all india rank of 21546 and i was interested in mining since my childhood days my fathers elder brother is an engineer in singareni colories and so i visited mines many times in my childhood days so i was interested in mining and chosed it.one of my relatives completed his completed his computerscience here and he guided me much during the choosing of the college.

Tata steel generally takes the students for internships and offers a stipend i doesn't know the value of the stipend since i am in second year last year two people from mining are selected for internship from mining due to their good performance in internship they got their preplacement offer from tata steel.

Placements in nit rourkela are very good in mining engineering department inthe year 2013 there are 150% placements that is the same guy is placed in two companies and half of the students got placed in same manner they are also planning to build a new placement center in bhubhaneswar for placemnts and recruitments, since rourkela is not much developed area.

The hostel facilities are very good with good hostel rooms but the food is not upto the mark it needs to be imuproved much inorder to promote the level of nits when compared to the other institutes.

There are a max of 5 theory courses and four practical courses theory courses have a mid semester exam and and end semester exam and a 20 mark for teacher assistance and for practical courses no official tests conducted by the institute but are conducted
