Remarks
The course needs more practical aspects of the industry and modern equipments in the labs. Introduction of Staadpro, Auto Cad, Costing and estimation etc. Is a must to survive in the ever growing industry. College fest and co curricular activities are the most beautiful attractions of DTU. They help the students socialize and also learn other life skills.
Course Curriculum Overview
The prescribed course is upto the required level of official standards and is upto date with the latest technology. Only thing which needs to be improved is teaching techniques. Course also includes designing through latest softwares.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is not feasible at all, fees are increasing exponentially every year. For a indian national, fees will be around 7-7.5 lakhs for 4 years excluding hostel fees. For foreign nationals from SAARC countries, fee is $4000 per anum and for non SAARC nationals, it is $8000 per anum.
Campus Life
DTU has ample space for labs and other research work. Even though the lab equipments are primitive and are not in sync with the current modern equipments used in the industry. But they still offer facilities not offered by other colleges. Quality of food in the mess is decent. Library is a huge attraction of DTU and often provides books for the curriculum. There is a sports complex on the campus which has indoor badminton and table tennis facilities. The campus is claimed to have Wi-Fi all around, but it is available in quite a few places, and the signal is too weak for any practical use. Hostel rooms are quite small and aren't notable.
Alumni/Alumna
Usually seniors are very helpful. They guide anyone who comes for help. Usually junior- senior interaction occurs in some society. We also have a strong Alumni network which hosts event annually and the alumni donate money for the scholarship program. Also the campus is ragging free.
Faculty
I would rate 4 out of 10 for faculty members. I suggest you not to argue with argue with any faculty in DTU. Most of them don't know how to teach except for a few. They have the knowledge, but I don't think they know how to study. Our lab assistants are very rude. Admin block is one of the worst things in DTU. As far as the course curriculum is concerned, we have a standard course curriculum like any other engineering college. But extracurricular activities are not included in the course curriculum. Now, from 2018, DTU might have started encouraging extracurricular activities from the 1st year.
