Course Curriculum Overview
Course Is Designed As Per The CSIR NET Syallabus For Master's Course And For B.Tech Courses It Is Designed As Per GATE and Other Entrance Exams, So that students can easily get through those exams. Total of 5 Exams For Each Paper Is Conducted Which is in total of 100 marks. Quiz 1 & 2 is 5 marks each, sessional 1 & 2 is 15 marks each and end semester is 50 marks. 5 marks awarded for attendence and 5 for assignment.

Various Events are celebrated all year including sports events, prom Nights, musical Events, Different inter departmental activities and centre of attraction is College annual festival "Kaalraav". Which gives immense joy to students and faculties as well

Fees and Financial Aid
30% concession on Course fee for B Tech candidates having average PCM (Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics) percentage 90 and above. 20% concession on Course fee for B Tech candidates having average PCM (Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics) percentage between 85 and 90. 10% concession on Course fee for B Tech candidates having average PCM (Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics) percentage between 80 and 85. 20% concession on Course fee for B Tech candidates of Nepal and Bhutan. 10% concession on Course fee to the immediate siblings of SMIT Students for taking admission in B Tech course. 75% concession in tuition fees are given to students sponsored by Govt. of Sikkim.
Campus Life
Large no of extracurricular activities run throughout the year. Inter Departmental sports activities are organised. Gym facilities given to students. Adding to that indoor sports complex available. Inter departmental Table Tennis, Football, Cricket, Badminton, Chess Are Organised with Full Joy.
Alumni/Alumna
Each year a conference or workshop and alumni meet is organised for most of the department and a grand alumni meet is organised in different location of India where huge number of students take part, meet and talk with old students of SMIT. This is a great initiative by the campus.
Admission
SMIT offline Test – Conducted by SMU specifically only for SMIT JEE – Conducted by CBSE, candidates need to apply and later submit the score sheet MAHE-OET – Combined entrance test for Manipal group of technological institutions Note: SMIT does not participate in common counselling of JEE, Seats are allotted on the basis of JEE score under General, NE, Sikkim, Defense and Gorkha Territorial Administration (GTA) category
Faculty
the teachers were very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality was very good. Yes it is relevant to the course curriculum that was being taught to us in our classes daily. Yes, I will make us industry ready as it gives us good exposure in the course that we are studying.
