IEM college review

College is good and resourceful for the students who really wants to learn and achieve something.For those who think college a timepass or just a way to get a degree,my own suggestion is that they can get degree from anywhere else,they'll find nothing sort of good or new here.They'll definitely complain.

The course curriculum is good.They teach you everything you require to become a software developer,or a software engineer.They teach you various programming languages that are very helpful and are keys for a software developer.They also teach you some hardware portions so you can get fundamentals and a skilled knowledge based on your subject. Exams are not conducted by the college itself.It follows state board for technology exams,which is,Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology,West Bengal.Exam structure and management all are good,no complaints.

Placements are good.There are very large number of students getting placed in different companies varying in salary number and the number of students.There are mass recruiters like Infosys,TCS,Wipro,Cognizant and also companies with high salaries such as Samsung,HCL,Adobe,ARW with figures around 15lpa,visit here for recruitments.Almost every students get placed somewhere,so not really to worry about the placements,if you have just a basic understanding in your subject.Yes,college provides internships to various meritorious and deserving students in some of the good companies and stipend varies from 8k/m to 25/m(few students also got internship letter from google,in my batch).

1)College Techfest, which is an event organized by college to showcase talents and also various new technologies are made to understand and are explored to acquire knowledge. 2)College Cultural Fest, based on cultural programmes and is the cocktail of different cultures from different parts of India and globe. 3)IEMCO, which is a Coding Olympiad for all the students in the region. It is organized by our college but every student can participate irrespective of any college. A fair amount of prize money is also there, awarded to the winners and runners. 4)Kolkata Marathon organized by IEM: This city marathon is organized every year by the college for the purpose of delivering the message of staying fit and staying healthy. 5)Intercollege Cricket Championship: Name itself says everything, so I don't think there is anything to discuss.

Feasible. Entire course cost around 4 laks, if only college fees are involved. Fooding and lodging are to be beared by oneself. But college also provides hostel accommodations for the students coming from distant areas and the fee is also bearable.

Our college also provides education to some of the really underprivileged meritorious students through a scheme called TFW(tuition fees waiver) in which only the exam fees are collected from the specific students and everything is made free for them. Loans are also disbursed from the bank easily as the college is reputed and banks already know the college by name and the quality learning it provides.

Labs are the best thing in the college.As college sees practical skills as the most necessary skills in a student so it arranges everything required for practicals and resources are made easy to reach and utilitise. Sports culture are also there in college as college motivates players and athletes to take part in various sports activities and make arrangements for them.There are all form of sports being played and enjoyed.

No,I haven't opted for Hostel.The time I came here,I took admission with my 4-6 friends that were with me from the school days only.So we got a lodging apartment pretty easily and ourselves made arrangements for fooding and all.

The alumni network and the seniors all are helpful and are cooperative in every possible way.As I've already mentioned about the alumni that they give you their every possible time if you are on something and having any problems.Seniors are also very friendly and they'll help you in getting away from any possible problems or if you are trapped already,they will work on the solutions definitely.For these reasons,environment is pretty good at college.

I got 50324 rank in All India Mains Exam conducted in the year 2016.Through this rank,I was able to book a berth in the merit list of this college.First I was getting some other colleges,namely,Haldia,Heritage,Techno India and all,but after subsequent cutoff lists,I was able to find a seat in this college.

Since I'm in IT(Information Technology) department of my college so I'll talk mainly about my department.But every other department is also not very different than this.Here teaching is very efficient and you strictly need to get a good attendence,which is very mandatory.Professors are very knowledged and skilled their subjects.They help you everytime in solving your problems.They motivates you and hence you get a very good atmosphere in learning things.There is a good library having ample amount of course books and operates 24×7 hours so you can get every resource on time.Faculty is a bit strict in terms of discipline and they dont expect you getting involved in any nuisances.Also,they strictly want good attendence from you which is not the case of the department but of the college itself.I think every other college is strict in terms of attendance.
