The best college in Kolkata

Positive about the college :- The environment, faculty and the students are very helpful and are top of the line. Negative about the college:- The college buildings could be a little better and the area around the college is not a pleasing place.

The course curriculum is very well prepared especially in the middle part of the course the topics covered are all latest due to which it's very easy to get a job in this competitive environment. The course also has a huge variety of side subjects which helps in extra learning which ultimately results in great success after completion of the course.

The placement and jobs opportunities are normal at most. There are very limited students in each department due to which the placement becomes highly competitive due to less number of seats. But if we are talking about internship then it is a complete different story, the students have to find the internship on their own if they want to do it. Otherwise there is not a very big scope of getting internships(except TEXTILE TECHNOLOGY dept.).

The fee structure is very feasible as it is a government college. The approximate fee structure for Computer Science and engineering is around 48 thousand rupees and extra 12 thousand for admission. So the cost comes up as 60 thousand rupees for the entire course which is extremely economical as compared to other private colleges.

There are a ton of scholarships. Like there are Swami Vivekananda scholarship for those who have achieved 80% or above in 12th and joined the college on the same as of passing of 12th. And there is a scholarship for the minority students, and a ton more for those who are worth.

There is a huge advantage for extracurricular activities. The students are always welcomed to work on new ideas in the labs and if they do something innovative then they are awarded with MAR points which reflects on the final certificate. Sports events are very regular in the campus and teams are always playing with other colleges in leagues and in friendly exhibition matches.

The seniors are very helpful, they help in all aspects from studies to supporting mentally. If the teachers are not there to help them the students will always have an option to go a senior for help. The senior junior bonding is also very strong due to this particular reason.

I gave WBJEE which stands for West Bengal joint entrance exam. And I scored 5287 rank in it due to which I got a chance in GCETTS via counseling. The counseling process is around 3 to 4 weeks long and generally students with rank around 5k to 7k can apply for the college with a good percentage of getting a seat.

The faculty of the college is very balenced and stable. The teachers are very helpful in all the aspects of the course due to which doubt clearing is a bread on butter situation. The students can go to any teacher(on the respective field) to clear their doubts and to take tips which increases the student teacher bonding. The quality of teaching is by far one of the best among all the other Colleges around Kolkata.
