Remarks

This is one the finest institutions of the country and the best in the state in terms of quality medical education. The college is constantly being upgraded in terms of infrastructure to meet the needs of the future.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

There are 4.5 years of training and one year of internship. The first professional exam is at the end of the first year, second after another 1.5 years, third after another year and the final professional exam at the end of 4.5 years. There are 14 subjects in total, divided as 3 in the first year, 4 in the second year, 3 in the thrid year and 4 in the final year.

Placement Experience

4

A graduate can choose to go for higher studies or start working. A doctor at the end of the internship at this hospital is trained enough to work flawlessly at any hospital (that hires). The students earn a stipend of 25000? per month during internship. The intership is quite hectic and tiresome, although authorities are working on this situation.

College Events

5

This is a very live College where almost everything is celebrated. There are immense opportunities for sports and arts and I've seen great talents develop during their tenure in college. Listing out the functions and events at this College would be exhaustive.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees is around 25000? per annum for most students. Students with financial constraints are leived of fees by the government. For an average middle class family, I find it very feasible. The fees is inclusive of the bus fee too.

Fees and Financial Aid

Kerala government provides E-grants for students who finds it difficult to meet the expenses of the college. This scheme pays the college and hostel fee. One needs to apply for this at the time of application for the entrance exam.

Campus Life

4

There is an interbatch arts fest with 106 events and that's a whole lot. The college also hosts athletics annually. There is a premier league with events like cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, tennis, kho kho, badmintion etc. This College proves it's mettle at intercollege arts and sports meets too. There is a southzone meet followed by an interzone meet. Then there is intermedicos which is essentially arts and sports competition among medical colleges throughout the state.

Hostel Facilities

5

The hostel is good with enough space for all. Rooms are available as single rooms, twin sharing and triple sharing basis. There are enough and clean toilets and bathrooms. Laundry service is available. Drinking water filters are installed at every corner of the hostel. There is enough parking space too. There is a Gym, a volleyball court and a basketball court. There is an indoor play room, home theatre etc. There is a CCD cafe within the hostel that is open round the clock.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni keeps in constant touch with the college and regular get togethers are held. It is a very tightly knit community with active participation from all batches. It helps funding of new projects in the college campus.

Admission

Appear for NEET. Once you get a good rank, place your College of choice in the priority list during allotment. Once you are alloted this College, you need to go to this College with relevent documents on the date mentioned and take your admission.

Faculty

4

Well trained and specialised staff tailored for the purpose of creating even more skilled doctors. The doctors are friendly and approachable with immense knowledge. Though personal interaction with all the students is quite impossible owing to the fact that there are 250 students in one batch.

Even though a bit tight and rushy, this is in fact the best curriculum provided and followed by all medical colleges in kerala. The frequency of exam is high and difficulty level is as same as that of KUHS. This provides relevant experience for the students to weite the university exams

Course Curriculum Overview:

It's always relevant to the content being taught by the teachers. They always use application based questions to prepare us for a real life situation as well. First aid training was also completed. Some of the teachers are very interactive while some not. Short exams are conducted on a weekly basis while internal exams are conducted every 2/3 months. Not that difficult but it isn't that easy either. Very strict checking, nothing is liberal.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is a pretty hard one i must say but the feeling of putting on a white coat and looking after patients is surreal and that's the main essence of the job. The curriculum is very vast but each subject is important in its own way. The exams are all conducted in such a way that there's enough time for us to prepare .
