No such negative remarks. College is very much friendly in everything. Raggings are totally zero. The climate of Jalpaiguri remains awesome every time. We have a large library with numerous books. A central library is being made.

Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College is an autonomous government engineering college. But It follows the course curriculum and exam structures as followed by MAKAUT university, the one and the only technical university of West Bengal. It follows the semester-wise curriculum for b.tech.

The placements of our college vary from department to department as well as year to year. The overall placements of this college are good. Placements of non-core departments are better than core departments. Yes, our college provides internships too based on different topics. But most of the internships are unpaid.

Our college organizes various events over the year. During February our college organizes SRISTI, the biggest techno-management fest of North Bengal. During March our college organizes JECLAT, the seven days annual cultural fest of our college which is the biggest in north Bengal. Besides this Saraswati Puja, Independence Day, Teachers' Day, Biswakarma puja are celebrated with gaity and grandeur every year.

As this is a totally government engineering college. The fee Structure is very much feasible. No extra hidden costs are taken from students. But some extracurricular charges are taken like charges for clubs of the college, annual fest fee, fee for freshers, etc which are negligible.

Our college does not provide any such different scholarships. But scholarships that are given by the government are also provided by colleges. Scholarships are given based on merits as well as family income. As I have a higher family income so I do not get any such scholarships.

We have all types of labs that are needed in a general engineering college. We have one physics one chemistry and various departmental labs. Lab attendants are very much helpful. We have a common sports club in which football and cricket are included. College is very much active in extracurricular activities. We have a drama club, photography club, dance club, music club, art club, and much more.

I am a boarder of the hostel provided by the college. There are different hostels for different year students for boys and a common hostel for all year girls. Hostel account is quite good and daily needs like foods, water and electricity is provided. Hostel prices are also cheap.

Alumni are not so much active in our college. They meet us just once a year. Alumni do not meet us in our college. They organize a meetup far away from our college during our vacation. So most of the students can not meet them. But seniors are very much helpful.

Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College is one of the top engineering colleges of West Bengal. A student needs to qualify in the West Bengal joint entrance examination and achieve a certain rank to get admission to this college. In this procedure, I got an opportunity to study there. This step is Common And mandatory for everyone.

I study in Computer Science And Engineering Department. I am in my 2nd year. The faculty facilities of our department are satisfactory. But the faculties of other departments are not so much good. Laboratories are not so much good. Lack of management.
