Remarks
I will give postive remark as this is the college with less or no negative side. They have everything what one needs in their Engineering life. But what I can say is that they must look at their placement cell which will boost students confidence and college reputation too.
Course Curriculum Overview
My opinion on course curriculum is that its good. I mean they are updated and quite student friendly. About ecam structure,they have one mid sem for 1 semester. And usually exams ends before other colleges here.
Placement Experience
As its Institute of national important companies do visit our college. On an average for every branch, average placement vary from 6 to 12-13 LPA. For this year placement is again higher than previous years. For CS/IT Average placement goes till 12-13 LPA and highest goes around 40 LPA. Core placement are good here too.
College Events
Instruo(Tecg event), Rebeca (Cultural fest), Spruhan (EE Dept fest), Gyanotsav (CS Dept fest). Insturo and Rebecca are biggest events hosted in Kolkata city. They have prized upto 30-40 Lakh and student comes from all India. They have amazing days to be celebrated.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Its government college so its ok. I mean for reserved candidate its nill for general it is around 120k year. For OBC Candidate you have to pay 60k per year and for SC/ST there is no tuition fee. This is all under central government.
Fees and Financial Aid
No, I havent availed any scholarships. As I m general candidate student. They are various scheme under NSP (National scholarship portal) which allows student to get scholarship according to their condition.
Campus Life
They have everything in campus. Whatever you want is there. You just need to decide what you want exactly. We have 2 grounds. One for cricket one for football. We have basketball court where various inter dept inter hostel matches are played and so do we have good amount of sports facility. Coming to labs they are updated and air-conditioned. Lab quality is nice.
Hostel Facilities
Yes, I have opted for hostel and it is good. We have to just pay 8k per year for hostel and its way too nice at that price. We have unlimited wifi,good bathroom,good canteen, etc. Infrastructure is about 10 years old but it is manageable.
Alumni/Alumna
They are helpful. College is 150+ year old so you can judge on alumini network. This college is second oldest college in whole India and just comes after IIT Roorkee. Senior here are supportive and they do support and guide children.
Admission
You have to enroll for JOSAA counseling after giving JEE Mains,you will be given this college according to your JEE Mains rank. Higher the branch like CS/IT cutoff goes higher. This college can only be get through JOSAA counseling.
Faculty
Some faculties are good some are okayish. It depend upon your branch and what you want to do. For research there are lots of faculties who did their phd etc. And one thing,every HOD here is Phd from renowed institute.
