Jalpaiguri government engineering College is an autonomous college, so it used to have its own course curriculum i.e.they used to run their own syllabus but from 2018 they started to follow MAKAUT syllabus but the college is still an autonomous instituition and they run their own exam pattern, exam syllabus and also the exam dates.

As like most of the engineering colleges Jalpaiguri government engineering College have a very good placement ratio, our college students not only placed in IT companies but the core companies also .yes IT companies takes too many students .Core students can also think of their career. Their is training and placement cell which organizes the internships and placements.

In Jalpaiguri government engineering College there are several events which is celebrated every year in our college campus.we have the north bengal largest cultural event celebrated here every year. In this event students every corner of north bengal. We celebrate this largest cultural event about seven days, each days there are several event happens like roadies 2019,jgec idol 2019,we also celebrate holi in these seven days, then there is one social night where musicians came from all over the indian globe. Then there is alumni reunion event.we also organise techfest event every year where students not only presents their representation but learns how better they can be more expressive about their presentation. We Also celebrate Vishkarma puja, Saraswati puja in our college.

It is a Government engineering College so its expenses are feasible by any class of students and there is a scholarship program which is run by our college alumni. Any needful student can apply for it.

Our college alumni runs a scholarship program which helps a lot of needful students. They provide this scholarship according to the students performance in exams as well as in technical field like they participate in techfest, Intracollege Innovation Challenge. This can only be available once you entered into the 2nd year of college.

The students of jalpaiguri government engineering College can explore their extracurricular activities by joining different clubs of this college. Our college have 16 clubs which provide a stage for them.These clubs are free and no admission charges are taken. Labs are in average condition. They is a sports club which takes care of the sports activities of students

Yes I have opted for Hostel and hostel facilities are appropriate in a way, its infrastructure is average and they provide a basic facility just like 24*7 internet connections, cleaned floor and bathrooms.

Our alumni network is excellent, you can find our college pass outs in every field of life.They are very much helpful, they even run a scholarship program which helps needful students. They are very helpful in every aspect of life.

By securing a rank in wbjee, I sat for the counselling round of wbjee and filled my choice of college and choice of stream then I lock my seat in this college by providing the 5000 rupees in the third round of counselling. Then after third round, I moved to college for verification process and completed the admission process finally.

The faculty of Jalpaiguri government engineering College are very much experienced ,they provide a good technical knowledge as most of the government engineering College now a days don't believe in. They tries to make every student a technically sound in every field of interest. They are highly qualified too.
