I got an opportunity to get into this wonderful college through Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission 2012 (TNEA 12). I secured 187.25 as my Engineering cutoff. I had several other colleges in my engineering counseling, but i selected Valliammai among that, since I made a decent research on top colleges in Chennai and found Valliammai to be in my list. The College belongs to SRM Group and it has a pretty good infrastructure. I visited the college personally with my parents before selecting the College through counseling.

There are two electives each in Sixth and Seventh semester respectively. We were made to vote for the subjects among the electives according to every student's choice, and our 'Head of Department' selects the subject which had maximum votes. But particularly in the 7th Semester HOD made us choose Cryptography and Network Security as our elective since it has a wide range of importance in the society. So, we selected Web Technology & Numerical Methods in the 6th Semester, and User Interface Design & Cryptography and Network Security in the 7th Semester respectively.The College has the best faculties. The faculties are assigned in a such way that they teach us the concepts practically. At times, they make use of power point presentations to teach the students interactively. We dont face any boring classes in our curriculum.

During the 3rd year of our curriculum, UNIQ Technologies visited our college for providing us internship experience. Many of our students had participated in it. It was a small organization, but we learnt that a product based company has more value in the industry. The internship taught us developing android applications, how database works as a backend, and about Advanced Java's application in the industry. The stipend offered to us was Rs.1500.

Valliammai College has the best placement opportunities for the Students. Students are able to participate in the Interviews that are held even in the SRM University. Computer Science Department is ranks second in the Placement, first being ECE Department.The companies which come to campus include Infosys(at SRM), Tata Consultancy Services, Igate, L & T Infotech, Newgen, Sutherland. Newgen alone offers 4 lakhs Per Annum for a Trainee, whereas TCS, Igate, L&T offer 3 Lakh Per annum for a trainee. Sutherland offers 1.8-2 Lakh per annum.

Our college had a Mini Project Expo on August,2015. It was a stress relief from the main project for the students, as we had an exact spot like how would be the main project would be. Even the Junior students from 2nd year were allowed to participate in the competition. And to the surprise, one of the top three among the winners were found to be from juniors. Our college also had a Technical Symposium called Cyborgs 2K15. Many colleges participated in the symposium and they found it to be very delighted with the way our college students responded to their talents.It was a huge success for our CSE Department. Everyone praised us for our work.

The fee Structure is feasible for both the Counseling Students as well as for the Administrative Students.For first graduate students who come through TNEA, 1st year-Rs.30000Remaining years-Rs.20000 For students who come through TNEA, 1st year-Rs.50000Remaining years-Rs.40000 For Students who come though Administration1st year-Rs.95000Remaining years-Rs.85000 They collect Rs.10000 extra for the first year for the Placement training which they offer to the students right from the first year onwards, and as well as for the Prescribed books for the first year would be provided by the college including accessories.

I have not availed any of the scholarships but there are scholarships being offered by the college for the BC as well as SC candidates we have to provide the college management about our Bank Details and they will credit the scholarship amount into our account. The Students who claim scholarships should not have any backlogs in their course.

Our Campus life is just excellent we learn how to behave with North Indians, as we visit to SRM University for Events. All are treated equal and there are no partialities shown to any genders. Many workshops are being conducted by Valliammai College. Even faculties from SRM University reach to our college to take awareness about Cloud Computing, Big Data and many other topics related to our CSE Department. We are not supposed to cut cakes for any parties inside our classroom. But we are allowed in hostel with a prior permission our college is ragging free. It is treated as a crime and students who are convicted in ragging are dismissed from the college.

I would rate 9/10 for the Hostel facilites and 5/10 for the mess food.The hostel has Wi-Fi. They provide decent restrooms which are maintained properly. But the mess food is not upto the quality standards that we expect from the institution. Most of our s

We respect our seniors very much. They have conducted many Guest Lectures and Seminars. At the time of Campus Recruitment, the seniors themselves arranged 10 members and took classes for aptitude preparation. We had some practice right from the first year for aptitude, but still they gave us their time and knowledge and brushed up all the topics with their key ideas to solve each type of question. We found it very useful, especially during the TCS aptitude test. One of our senior is a HR Representative in Igate, and before the company visited our campus, he helped us out about their interview process and what all the organization expecting in general from a candidate.
