The syllabus of the entire course is divided amoung 8 semesters. Syllabus is fixed and not subjected to change. Every week we have to appear for 2 class tests so that the cadet doesn't leave out any subject At the end of each semester we have a comprehensive (sem-end) examination whose result is declared after 1-2 months.

The college provides scholarship for the top 35 ranked cadets in each semester. Amount varies according to the rank College also provides a huge scholarship for cadets with poor family background but only a few are selected for such scholarships (after an interview)

An individual has to qualify TMI-SAT followed by an interview . Also he has to appear for IMUCET . Merit list is prepared according to one's performance in all stages . Then the individual is called for a medical and thus the admission letter is handed over to him

Faculty is well experienced with through knowledge about their respective subjects. They know the ways of teaching and how to prepare notes of their subject. The teachers in the college are qualified with B.Tech degree and most of the teachers are chief engineers and chief officers. Thus they provide good knowledge regarding ships and the topic related to ships. The students to faculty ratio is 40:1. We have electrical laboratory for hands on practice.
