Valia college of commerce is place for students who are not very academically brilliant. The range from average to above average students. If a student is excellent in their academics, they will shift their admission to other college. The college has not been able to stop that from a very long time.
Course Curriculum Overview
Exam Structure in the recent times is at par with other metropolitan Universities. No change required. The exam Structure though needs revamp, as the other universities have an evolving pattern to test students.
Placement Experience
The college placement is not at all upto the par industry benchmark. There is no placement program or placement cell in the college. Its more of a verbal communication with the students. However the efforts are being taken to streamline the same.
College Events
There is annual cultural festival callef Jalosh. It celebrates the various forms of arts and other culturally diverse ways of artistic dance, singing and various acts. There is a committee that organises the entire festival. There are various other small festival celebrations taking place in the college.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is feasible to most of the students. The ones which could not afford it, are given financial aide from the college fund or from the government grants given by the govt. Under various central.govt. schemes.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college has no loan facility for the students. The student can avail discounts in the fees structure that are aided and funded by the central govt. Grants. Scholarship is granted to students at the end of the year for getting the highest marks in the particular subjects.
Campus Life
The college is highly active in sports activities. There are various sports activities taken up by the college. Good amount of students participate in intercollegiate tournaments. There are plenty of instances, where college have won multiple tournaments at state and national level.
Hostel Facilities
The infrastructure for the college is good. The classroom facilities are excellent. But since the students stay near the college premises. There is no hostel facility for the students. Hence the rate of hostel facility is not applicable here.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network needs a major revamp. The students are connected personally on social media and other platforms, but there is no official platform where alumni meets could take place.or the senior students can offer help to the young generation people.
Admission
It's a standard procedural entrance. The candidate has to apply for the admission based on the merits of their marks in 10th Grade or 12thGrade. The college once in the receipt of applications, shall make a merit list.and based on cut off procedures, decide the admission.
Faculty
There are varied facilities in various streams. Most of them are young faculties. However there is a higher attrition rate in the college. Also there should be a periodic programs to enhance the skills of faculty.
