A lot of things can improve in this college.First the minimum attendance policy should be removed.No student should be forced to attend classes if he/she doesn't want to.Infrastructure and placement scenario are not good.So that needs to be taken care of.

The current course curriculum is very obsolete and restricts the potential of the students.No practical exposure is provided.Whatever students learn they do on their own to secure jobs.The course is of four years and divided into eight semesters.For the first two semesters internal and externalare in the ratio 1:1.For all the other seam

Placements and job opportunities conditions is not very good in our college.That said if someone is good in what he/she does it is not difficult to bag 10+ Lacs per annum offers also.Since practical exposure is not provided core engineering jobs are notuch secured by the students.Yes my college provides internship.I am in first year so I have yet to experience the overall process.

A number of technical and non technical events are celebrated in our college.From Sphuran - The Electrical engineering fest,Instruo - Technical Fest, Crescendo -Music Talent Showcase, Rebecca- Cultural Fest we have a myriad number of events where any person with any interest can showcase Thier skill and hone it.

The tuition fee is approximately Rs.70000 per semester.Hostel fee is Rs.4000 and mess fee is Rs.25500 per semester.It is affordable for most of us and for students with family income less than Rs.5 lakhs per annum fee concessions are provided. Tuition fee is zero for SC,ST and OBC.

Any student whose family income is less than Rs.5 lakhs per annum are provided with partial or total fee concession accordings to their needs. Also people belonging to SC, ST and OBC category are provided education free of cost.

Extracurricular activities are heavily promoted and participated in.People participate in music,dance,drama,art and craft.Also sports such as football, basketball,gym,table tennis and badminton are played with great enthusiasm.Infrastructure is not good but is developing.

The hostels are in very poor condition.They keep four students in a room where even it is difficult for three students to live. Food is not good and unhygienic despite paying so much amount for it.Toilets do not flush and bathrooms door do not close properly.It is very difficult and painful to live here.

The alumni network of the institute is very strong.People from this institute have shown their meddle around the world.Also the seniors are very helpful and help us in getting internships,providing last year question papers and getting us comfortable in the new surroundings.

I had scored All India Rank 28211 in Jee Main Engineering Entrance Exam and filled for JOSAA counselling.After the seventh round I got IIIT Kottayam but I didn't want that college.So I filled CSAB form and got IIEST Shibpur.Then I went to IIEST Shibpur with all the required documents to complete my admission.

The faculty of this college is knowledgeable and research oriented.But many of them are biased towards Bengali students and provide them extra marks in internals.Our college is one of the most research oriented colleges in the country.
