Remarks

I would surely give positive remarks to my college. College has a good reputation in the Delhi University and it serves as one of the best Commerce colleges of DU. The college excels in all the fields - academic, faculty, infrastructure and curriculum. I will surely refer my friends and juniors to join the college but of course after getting attention 95% in class 12th.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

When I joined the college, the course Bcom hons turned into a 3 year programme from a 4 year programme. This 3 year course Bcom hons gives us a bachelor degree in the fields like marketing, finance etc. The subjects are quite interesting and helps in getting s good amount of knowledge. There are subjects of management like corporate management, financial management etc. Overall the course curriculum of 3 years is a perfect one.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, during my time, there wasn't such thing. We ourselves had to look outside college for opportunities. But now an internship cell called encode has been made which ticks this internship box and makes sure that the internship team gets some good companies who can give some practical knowledge during summer vacations.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are quite good. But they are good only for Bcom(P) , Bcom(hons) and eco (hons) students. As most of the people sitting for placements getting placed with an average package of around 3 lakhs. Other than these courses, students find difficult to get placed as most companies don't make for other courses. This is one of the reasons why the cut off goes really for these 3 courses.

College Events

4

Every year college fest is celebrated in Feb-March with great pomp and show. People participate in great numbers. One celebrity makes the event even more wonderful. Over the last years, celebrities like Honey Singh, sukh-e have showed their appearances in the fest. There are various stalls, games in the fest to attract audiences. Other than this there are various societies in the college like finance and investment society, commerce society, NSS, enactus etc. These societies keep organizing small events on a regular basis. It is necessary for students to join at least 1 society in order to develop communication, networking and personality skills

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees is quite reasonable. Fees is just 6000- 7000 per year. I know it's quite less, in fact negligible if you consider the fees of private colleges. Well Govt colleges do have a great value other than just the fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

Since our college has a very low fees, I don't think loan would be required by anyone unless a student has a family problem or something. Loan is quite easier because of the brand and the value of the university. Scholarship is also provided, I guess it's 1 time which is received on getting full marks in any external exam.

Campus Life

3.5

Extra curricular activities like tennis, volleyball, cricket are there which makes our free time really worth it. Library is also quite nice. The atmosphere is silent and looks very clean and tidy after entering. Computer lab is also present at the ground floor

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Unfortunately the college doesn't provide any hostels. There are PGs and flats available outside the college at reasonable cost. They all are quite decent enough to stay. Moreover all basic necessities and shops are at a waking distance.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, senior students have been really helpful. I was also quite lucky enough to get good seniors who gave me a right path and gave all the tips and information as the final year progressed. Even the alumini network is really awesome.

Exam Structure

Exams are held semi annually which makes 6 semesters in 3 years covering more than 30 subjects. Moreover internals are also there in between every semester which consists of assignments, viva, presentations or project.

Admission

I got admission by clearing the cut off which was 95.25%. I cleared the cut off by securing this percentage in my class 12th board exams in the year 2014. Admission is only on the basis of merit and there is a fair and a genuine admission process.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty is really amazing. Almost teachers here are teaching with a PHD tag. One can come to know even just by attending 1 lecture. Teachers give full attention to the queries of the students. Classes are held regularly. Some teachers are even quite friendly that you may discuss about your career or any other aspect personally.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

Placement Experience:

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
