The Goenka college

This college is good but has many loopholes in the management. Firstly classes are not taken regularly by the professors. You have to complete your syllabus on your own don't remain depending on the professors they gonna just discharge their duty. Basically in the morning section teachers never come properly. Also, the hipe that Goenka provides very good placement is also not true to that extent its just average or so before getting into the college think twice.

Basically 2 courses are provided here i.e. BCom and MCom. Being the student of 1st year I can share my experience until now, but that wasn't that great. I agree that this college is the best college over other colleges of CU but there lies many loopholes. During the 1st semester, half of our syllabus wasn't touched. In accounts, many of the imp. chapters were left completely. So up till now, I don't feel too much great or anything like wow regarding the curriculum of this college.

The most important aspect for getting into any college is the placement wing. Here in Goenka, every year placement session is held but the figures being placed are not that great. This year just 2 companies E&Y and Delloite came for placement. They took just 7 student out of 3 by E&Y and 4 by later one with package of 350000 pa and 425000 respectively. So the figures are not that appealing.

Three major events are held here every year. The mega one is the quest which continues for 3 days. Others are annual sports day and the socials. Saraswati puja is also celebrated each year. Inquest various events are organized by the student council.

Being a government college this college has a very economical fee structure. While admission it takes around Rs.1000 including fees for the first 6 months and then the monthly fees is Rs 85. Including all other charges the fees not highs above Rs 5000.

I haven't availed any of the scholarships from the college. But there are policies regarding scholarship for weaker students with concern from the administration.

The college has a fair gender ratio. Mainly this college is free from any kind of ragging and other nuisances/disturbances. The student council is very helpful and they try to help in each possible way. The library has a huge collection of books and one can get every genre there.

Goenka has a strong alumni network. The seniors in the college are helpful. One can be inspired by many of the seniors of the college.

Admission is completely online-based. After the results of CBSE and other boards being declared, college releases the date for filling up the admission form with a charge of Rs.100. After that merit list is prepared and after name being listed in the listed individual will ve eligible to fill the registration form (in mine time it charged me Rs.510). On completion of all these document verifications is done in person by the teachers on the specified date and finally, you are admitted to this college.

Regarding the faculty Goenka is blessed there are senior professors for every department. Being a Naac A accredited this college truly have good teachers. Teachers are always ready to help you out regarding all the doubts. Overall no doubt faculty is highly qualified here.
