Remarks

There are a few facts unique to this college. Firstly, the atmosphere is serene and calm, there is no rush or anxiety about the campus. Its a laid back atmosphere and the students are quite friendly and conducive to mingling. The faculties here are also

Entrance Preview

No entrance examination as such, but an interview with the principal after preliminary selection. The selection was pretty straightforward and so was the interview, however the admission process was unnecessary delayed by the college authorities.

Course Curriculum Overview

1.5

Course curriculum is sadly not at par with the standards all across the country. Course material is shockingly outdated, and the examinations are a farce. For example, the first question asked in IT exam was "What is a Computer" for 10 marks. In the 21st Century a student might just have to know more than that, and clear examinations by other means than penning down page turners in the answer booklet.

Internships Opportunities

The college does provide internship with reputed companies like Axis Bank, etc. The general stipend is not very generous owing to the fact that the college is not renowned on a national level for its competence. However being a former student, I would recommend others to not opt for internship but pursue higher education in standard institutions, as the degree obtained here is not worth much.

Placement Experience

2

Job opportunities are good enough considering the college, but definitely not those which can make an entire career out of it. However the placements are in respected companies like many nationwide banks and etailer companies. The general packages offered ranged from an annual package of Rs. 1, 80, 000 to 2, 40, 000 at most.

College Events

4

The college has its own fair share of activities and fests, which are not felt to be lacking at any point of time. There are various botanical fests where students showcase their green thumbs and draw many visitors from all around to the amazing flora cultivated in the college gardens. There are youth fests, song and dance are a pleasant delight, the youth also have their enthralling fashion shows and rock bands who perform every year, and leave a good memory in the minds of the students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

To start with this College is located in the middle of the city, so it does not have a hostel or mess facility of its own. Students rent out their own rooms and messes nearby which offer palatable food for reasonable prices. The fee structure is ultra affordable, and uniform for all classes of students. First year fees range between Rs. 2, 500 to 3, 000 for the whole annum, and the last years fees ranges between Rs. 4, 500 to 5, 000.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college does not offer any major scholarships that are well known by most of the students studying here. And I would say it is justified because the fees charged from the students are quite reasonable. Where a normal college would charge anything between Rs. 10, 000 to Rs. 30, 000 per annum, this one educates the student at one-fourth the price, thereby doing away the need for any scholarships as such.

Campus Life

3

Campus Life - pretty chilled out, relaxed, laid back, no specific pressure on recording a strict attendanceGender ratio would be 60 (male) to 40 (female)Debates and competitions are large in number, with heavy participation from students all across the campus, making for enthralling events. The Students are quite impartial to any diversity among them on any grounds, and are a friendly bunch.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are definitely a helpful lot. They always chip in and guide their fellow juniors at times most needed. Alumni network is a most qualified and dignified lot. It includes many famous personalities in India today, ranging from film-makers to cricketers and politicians.

Placement Experience:

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
