Remarks

Positive - Infrastructure has improved drastically. Safety is much better now. Girls have better hours of stay outside hostels after college. Student activities have improved. Negative- Faculties need to be improved judging on the basis of teaching skills. evry single fund by ugc should be properly utilised though after 2016 new VP has actually worked on it really well. But during my time things were not so..

Course Curriculum Overview

3

This institution provides outstanding courses in engineering like EEE, Electrical,Mechanical,Computer science, Electronic and Telecom,Civil,Production and Information technology .Our batch had the opportunity of 8 branches with 35 seats in comp science amd IT and 60 seats in rest branches including lateral entry but later on some few more branches like chemical and architecture were also started.

Internships Opportunities

College had no voluntary role for internship but students used to it by their own worth. Some fewest faculties were really supportive in terms of guidance . As per my knowledge i had done my training in rourkela steel plant(RSP) and had not much help from my faculties.

Placement Experience

2.5

The placement opportunities are quite fair . Being honest in my batch the placements were upto 60 to 70 percent and the batch strength of B.Tech students stood around 480 to 500 all total. Companies like Accenture, wipro,Infy ,Honda,Maruti,Delloite had come for on campus recruitment .

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is pretty simple and really cheap. During our tenure it was like this. Normal ( 15000 and 20000) 35000 yearly.Self finance (22000 and 28000) 50000 yearly. Hostel fees were 22000 but people are not so perfect so they were great in looting persons to around extra 4000 to 6000 yearly.

Fees and Financial Aid

Regarding loan facility some people were benefitted under low income group whose parent salary were below 3.5 lacs per annum.Apart from this the reservation quota people had a liberty of scholarship and fees relaxation to a great extent.

Campus Life

3.5

The extracurricular activities during our time was fair. we had balconies for dance practice and music practice. Rooms were allocated for any kind of activity. 2 years back STUDENT Activity Centre was constructed and as i mentioned in terms of Infrastructure New VP has done great work

Hostel Facilities

2.5

hostel infrastructure initially was meagre. No proper washroom. Water issues were there. hygienic sense were low. Later on during 2015 renovations were done and lot of changes were seen after new Vice president showed up.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumuni had played a great role and were really helpful.Mostly we were associated with branch seniors and they were really understanding. I possess no idea regarding any alumuni activity in college donation but people were really great volunteers during fests and theor presence lighted up events even to greater extent.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is a bit hectic. Its divided into 8 parts named as semister. each semester comprises of mid term and main exam with the division of marks as 20 and 80 respectively. The hectic part is the mid term itself is 2 modules out of 4 modules and one has to study pretty much for securing something out of 20 .

Admission

Firstly I had to appear for an entrance exam named Orissa joint entrance exam (OJEE) where approximately some 2 to 2.5 lakh aspirants appeared. Then i had to score a rank of 503 (general women) and then i got the opportunity to be a part of this institution .

Faculty

2

MY experience with faculty was fair. Few were outstanding, some moderate and some needed teaching skills because they were really fledgling in those parameters.Marking stood liberal to difficult based on teachers parameters and impressions. Very few faculties were unbiased especially teachers from Production and IT were mostly fair.. Regarding rest branches i genuinely have not much idea but mostly the words of mouth were that it was based on impression mostly.

Exams are conducted continously with no gaps and its not a easy stuff students get lot of stress but still somehow manage.

The placement opportunities at KIIT are quite good, especially for us the CSE students. The eligibility criteria for campus placements starts from 7th semester. Many well-known companies visit the university every year like TATA Consultancy Services , Infosys, Wipro, Accenture and Capgemini. The average package offered is around 6-8 lakhs and highest package offered around per yr avg is 50-60 lakhs. The percentage of students getting placements is around 90% plus in average per yr. After completing my degree, i plan to work in software industry and gain more experience in the field of technology

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
