Briefing about FIEM,Sonarpur

There is nothing negative academically. But there is a problem for transportation system as the roads are in the phase of repairing so the students face problem in reaching the college. The positive is everything about the college. The environment is perfect for education. No such disturbance from the city comes as a result students find comforting. The location is one of the major positive point. It is about 45mins from sealdah and 1.5 hrs from howrah.

Our college follows Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology. As per the rule there is 8 semester throughout the 4 years course of engineering. Each year consists of 2 semesters. The odd semester starts from the month of July and ends in december and the even semester starts from the month of last week of january or first week of February to May. There is certain syllabus according to the AICTE norms. The syllabus is strictly followed bu the university so as our college.

Placement is overall fair. By november 5-6 companies came in campus placement drive out of which some are IT companies and some are non IT companies. Till 7 th semester 8-9 companies come and after the semester till the 8th semester another round of placement takes place for the unsuccessful students. Overall 13-14 companies come in the campus placement

The freshers mini fest takes place in the month of september. Every type of technical and non technical events are organised by the senior for the junior students. The main technical fest happens on the month of March april. Students from other colleges too comes and takes part in the events. The cultural fest takes place in the month of april.

1st & 2nd sem- 40000 3rd & 4th sem- 41000 5th & 6th sem- 42000 7th & 8th sem- 43000 Besides there are certain schemes as tuition fee waiver issued from the Govt. of West bengal. Overall the tuition fees seems to be feasible for a lower mediocre family.

There are certain scholarship programs offered by the government that is followed by our college. Besides those tuition fee waiver facility is present for the economically poor candidates which is only permitted those who have the certificate.

Labs are well equipped. The apparatus are also of updated version. Students find it easy to perform the lab activity. College campus consists of 2 ground. One of them is basket ball ground and another is for football and cricket. The extra curricular activities are performed over there. Regular Yoga sessions are held on the ground.

There is no hostel facility available. Till now hostel is not present in our college campus. Hopefully the hostel facility will be available in the next few years. Besides there are certain hostels, paying guest facilities available on the opposite side of the college. Students generally resides in those accommodations.

The seniors are extremely helpful. The college have alumni Placed in big companies. Juniors meet them in the annual reunion program and the guidance is provided by them in order to brighten the future of the junior students.

I appeared in West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination in the year 2016. As per my rank I was alloted this college according to the merit. There is a scope of entry through AIEEE that is JEE mains exam. Students ranking in JEE mains also follows the same admission procedure.

Faculties are well knowledgeable person. Faculties are very friendly in behaviour with the students. A friendly atmosphere is present among the teachers and students. Even cultural programmes are arranged by both of them in order to maintain a healthy relationship.
